Towson area, could use a hand

I hate admitting defeat but I hate the sound my car is making more. My axleback has pooped the bed and and rattling horribly as I drive. I need to take it off to put my stock muffler back on. Unfortunately the combination of my cheapo tools and rusty bolts makes it nigh impossible for me. As soon as the bolt started rounding I stopped so someone with more experience and maybe better tools than I've got could get it. Unfortunately I can't afford to pay an exhaust shop like $150 for 60 seconds on their lift to go at it with an impact. I can come to you, bring jack and stands, buy you lunch or a case of beer?

Also if you have a super cheap axleback/muffler delete I might be interested in that if I can get some funding approved by the wife.

A picture of the offending bolt might give us a better idea of what you are dealing with.

There are many ways to remove a rounded rusty bolt. spray copious amounts of WD-40 under the bolt head and wait a while ,repeat.

Also you can google rounded bolt removal. When inserting new bolt coat the threads with anti seize paste for easier removal next time.

There are special sockets for removing rounded bolts , Grip-tite sockets come to mind.

If you need hands off help I'm able to do so. I'm located in Glen Burnie,so not so far away.

I didn't know these were a thing. Watched some videos and it looks promising. I'll pick some up and try this out. Thanks!

Well good luck! You may want to go by Lowes or Subaru first and get some replacement hardware (Stainless) in case you really give it hell!

Dude. Bolt extractors are absolute magic. 30 minutes of PB blaster, a big ole breaker bar, and a 14mm extractor socket did the trick. Can't thank you enough for the recommendation.

That said if anyone has a cheap axleback or catback they want to get rid of or are open to interesting trades let me know!
