Originally, it was comparing the RC with the fr-s... But I'm completely lost by now, I could be wrong

If this generation Lexus IS drives anywhere close to a comparable VW/Audi then Toyota has really stepped up its game.
Like night and day.

This generation of IS 250/350 and the GS350 F Sport is not only better than the previous generation it is better than any of the Eurosled competition. VW doesn't even get close. Audi rides like a buckboard by comparison, just for example.

Google Lexus IS 350 v BMW and see what pops up.

If that's the case, then I think the 86/BRZ/FRS project probably affected how Toyota and Subaru tune handling with their new cars to a much greater extent than many would realize.

Absolutely. Visit your local Lexus showroom and see if the IS F Sport shock kit is hanging on the wall. Looks suspiciously like a Bilstein kit....

Rumour is the Subaru/FRS now sports Sachs shocks which would explain the change (improvement) in handling behaviour.

You have to remember lexus is also toyota just the higher priced cars are called lexus in the usa. You cannot compare a scion to a lexus that is just silly.

I know this is an old post, but I was in this exact same position, except it was an IS250 f-sport vs an FRS. Initially I went to a Lexus dealership to test drive the IS.

Long story short, I saw an FRS parked in the corner of the lexus lot. I ended up getting an FRS instead. No regrets.
