I just think it's funny how you're more concerned about the weight capacity than the fact that the middle person didn't have a seat belt.

I think maybe considering how those three peeps are so wedged against each other that a middle seat belt might seem superfluous. But maybe an open moon roof, if we had one, would change the equation a little?

Off-topic, but your twin looks stunning with the contrast between the finish and the windows. My Subie is sterling silver with the dark tint, and my heart skips a beat when I see it in the sunshine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was shocked at the lack of a seatbelt for a middle passenger. It's just not worth the risk to them or the people in front!

Maybe I have been scarred by watching this commercial at a young age though:

Oh man I just had to sit in the back seat of mine for the first time, and now I truly understand the cruel and unusual punishment I've been subjecting my friends to from time to time (and why they avoid such an arrangement at all costs :P ).

I'm 6'0" and the person I sat behind (the passenger) was 5'2", and still, I was REALLY glad that it was only a 10-15 minute drive. My head was practically hitting the rear windshield! Yikes!

You guys say Asians (and fit 4-5), but have you seen Mexicans? (My family is Mexican) and we can probably fit like 10 (of course i'm exaggerating!)

That'd be like 2000 lbs lol

As the 2nd post mentioned: The weight placed on the sticker is the 'approved' weight and most the car can handle before it hurts the performance. Most I've carried is probably 500lbs(?) from SF airport to LA. MPG dropped and I didn't feel comfy driving fast like I normally used to on curves. You can really feel the momentum in this car with weight changes.

My wife and I moved from Chicago to Boston a few months back. We put as much leftover crap as we can fit in the back. It had the same effect as doing a 2 inch drop. The car's profile looked good, but I am sure we had more than the 699lb weight limit OP wrote about.

It did help us through the snow storm we had to go through between Indiana and Ohio. The car with that additional weight, riding on snow tires made it very steady on the snow though!

Anyways, 18 hours and 1000 miles later, the car made it safe and sound.
