Wait a few weeks for sema on wheels. SSR and many more will be showing their new lines of wheels and so on, if you're not in a panic I'd wait just a bit more.
1500 "with" tires that are decent will be a tough challenge however. Currently only XXR "might" get you around that. Even Enkei wheels as example on their own are in the 1000-1200 mark.

DKX 2014 Whiteout FRS Build - Socal
I don't think my parents have ever bought a wheel that was more than 200 dollars a piece before. And there have never been any issues. I've been looking at sparco assetto gara or enkei rsm9. Maybe rota grid or varrstoen es2. Can't really decide on a look.
If money wasn't really an issue id go straight for ssr sp1 in bronze. Those are some of my favorite wheels but for 3500 shipped. Not a realistic choice. I'm not in a huge rush to go buy wheels and tires so I'm open to any and all ideas, so I can save up for any wheel technically. But there are a bunch of other upgrades I hope to do soon, so expensive wheels will push those upgrades back quite a bit. Im not looking to race my car. I just want a distinctive look. Also I'm not really knowledgeable about offsets either. So any insight on that would be a great help as well EDIT: the sparcos are 136 a pop for 17s I imagine. That's a very manageable price. So I can't imagine the 18s being too much more. 18s are 176. That's a goodly price Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by dkx64; 10-28-2013 at 04:14 PM. |

Went to my first SoCal meet last night. Bunch of nice people with nice cars, even if they aren't all modded yet. Had a lot of fun. I'll definitely be back

It's at stock height right now as I won't be changing much until I have decided on a set of wheels. I want to go with rpf1 Tony Angelo Edition however, if 9.5 wide requires fender rolling if I get Eibach Pro Springs (1 inch drop), then I dont think I'll go that route. I can always get 18x8 and put the yellow stickers on or something

Im running 9.5 in the front and 10 in theback and got no fender rolling.
Note i am on stock height so no drop. but going with .25 to .50 drop should be no roll needed either. |

SSR MS3
18x8.5 +25 18x10 +37 Not lowered. Could lower about half an inch or an inch and might rub on high driveways and bumps, but I wouldn't because I got the Five Axis kit and the front lip scratches all over the damn place here in LA. Images Via ModBargains |

Ok I was out of town for thanksgiving, but before I left I ordered Varrstoen ES 2.2.1 18x8.5 et45. 2 wheels were shipped and the other 2 were not. Not really sure why that happened, apparently they are on 2 UPS trucks. The UPS guy came back when he was done with his other deliveries asking if I had received the other wheels but its still out there somewhere. Speak of the devil, its here
EDIT: Since funds are a little tight around the holidays, It's probably going to be a while before I get these things mounted. But I expect them to be on the car before Christmas All of the wheels came well-packaged. One small nic in one of the lips but it was bound to happen eventually so I'm not super worried about it. I'll fit them on the car in the next couple days and see how they look and take some pictures. Last edited by dkx64; 06-04-2014 at 01:30 AM. |

So my wheels are 18x8.5 +45. Will 245/40/18 tires fit? I'll be lowered on eibach pro 1inch. Fenders are not rolled. Hoping to not have to worry about that. I'd probably be fine with 235 but I really don't want to be fine with anything on this car. I want it to fit nicely. Wider is always better in my opinion but if it doesn't fit I won't do it. Any ideas? Looking at bridgestone re760. 245/40/18 and 235/40/18. Don't suggest 35 sidewalls. My back can't handle the roughness. Thanks

I didn't say they bought me MY wheels. I just asked them for advice and that's what they told me.

Still having trouble picking out tires to go with the varrstoen es221s 18x8.5 +45. Hoping to get suspension upgrades in the future although not too aggressive as the roads in California are definitely horrible. Anyone have any suggestions for both tires and suspension(coils or springs).
Love the look of jive turkey's brz fitment. Might be a little low for California though. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=19954&page=28 |
