So, everyone that is going, are you in the car/mods industry or just car people that want to see what's cool and new?

I've only ever gone to conferences for work things, either for training or exhibiting to sell software/services.

It seems like a descent expense to go look at cool car stuff for a few days.

Both.
When you are one gas tank away and have a free room, the expenses aren't really there.

It's a pretty exclusive event for anyone that's an enthusiast. My dad got tickets from his supplier as a retirement gift. I work for an OEM and have been trying to go forever but can't get tickets.

Plus roll it into a vacation (it is in Vegas after all) and it's a pretty sweet trip.

We are there to check out the show and basically do some father and son bonding. Fly in on Wed and then fly back to Austin late Friday night. Should be a fun few days looking at and talking about cars! Total cost will be around $1k for both of us.

Eh, I've been to Vegas a few times and while I'm in to drunken debauchery, I don't need to visit there anymore. It's awesome that you get to go with your dad though.

This is the best thing I've heard so far. It would be cool to be able to go with my dad. Maybe I'll have to try and swing it in a future year. Sounds like a pretty inexpensive trip.
