Well Prius tires for a sport japanese model that we don't get over here correct?

I'm switching mine out soon as I get my car on friday, father has a pair of decent ZR 225/45R17's I can use inplace of the stocks. Not sure which ones exactly but I know he has good tastes any case will be better then stock

It osunds like you are saying you don't know much or anything about tires and are replacing the stock ones for assumed better ones before you even use them?

lol. Stock tires are plenty good for average driver who is DDing and doesn't know what they are doing. But hey it's your car and money, have fun

Agreed. It's good to learn the car stock first and see where the limits are. The reason for the stock tires is to be forgiving to people who are relatively new to rear wheel drive. The transition from grip to slip is super smooth and manageable on the stock tires (quite fun as well). I've had them at nice high speeds in very curvy roads without them letting go or even feeling squirmy.

'Better' tires are not so forgiving and can step out on you unexpectedly if you're not used to it. And be harder to recover when they do let go. At my next track event I'm actually putting the stock tires back on the rear and leaving the PSS on the front for throttle control practice.

Me, the thought of pss on front and stockers on back is HAWT for some track fun.

Kevin you do that and I want a David type breakdown of that experiance pleeeze.

Makes so much sense.

Stock tires are not as bad as people say. I made it through the 1st winter in the 13 with them on but I used to drive my mustang on pirelli z summers all year long for 5 years (new tires every 6months) so that was way worse.

Our stocks are gas efficient and can be lots of fun when you want them to be.

What I don't recommend is driving this light ass car boosted over 300 at the wheels on summer tires in the winter. Lesson learned the expensive way.

Jeez if I had 300 at the wheels I would new rear tires weekly!
And.. they would not need to pave the road in front of my house for the inches thick layer of rubber.

About 2 hours after warranty runs out! Don't want too play the "my engine broke so gotta put it back to stock for warranty work" game.
Once out of warranty then I take full responsibility for my actions!
Haven't even started the research as to what way to for boost yet but pretty sure I may be able to find one or two tidbits of info here someplace. I will likely just ask Ubersuber what I should do.

Fuck warranty, just have a spare motor, or enough extra to buy one just in case. Way less hassle than trying to have dealer fix it.
