I dont know the amount of time and headache involved with making everything work on an ls swap id rather build the stock motor and know that i can run the higher boost and not have problems. Plus everything works like it should.

I'm looking to get springs soon. Any suggestions on installation? I don't have air tools and I won't rent spring compressors to do it by hand again.

I just wish I knew the motor's could handle the power like everyone used to think up to 500... 350 is close to enough but I like being able to go a little further at times. But building a motor just to stay at 400+/- just seems like over kill.
Stock motor and sell! Build the FD, I have a soft spot for cleanly built FD's

I don't have air tools. Did it by hand with a spring compressor.

I do installs of any kind if interested, alignment included. PM if interested. No job too big or too small.

Tough call. You will have failure with this engine boosted in stock form no matter what, it's just a matter of time. There are many obstacles to overcome with the FA20 even when built, AVCS, sub-par rod bearing oiling, weak valve springs (easy fix though), the list goes on. It's a tough decision really because no matter what all engines have their problems, LSx included. Personally if you have the LS I would go that route. The headaches involved are not that big of a deal imo.

These are my reasons against the LSX so far;
1) WGP refuses to do anything but sell their 8000 kit. I have asked repeatedly to buy the wiring harness or other pieces and they always say they will get back to me but never do.
I hate the idea of piecing a harness together with a donar harness that's over 10 years old.

2) Selling my mods is going to be a pain in the ass. The header and small pieces will be easy but the trans, turbo kit, all the pieces I will need gone to recoup costs will turn into a "well I want to pay this much" and it's used so this no matter how it's priced.

3) I still need a damn ls1 T56 bell housing and I can't find one to borrow or buy.

4) I have no idea how well the rear diff will take the kind of torque even the lightly modified LS1 I have will put out. (Not to mention the Axles and Chaise)

5) I'm at the mercy of others for pieces of the swap which I hate.

Those are the big reasons but you see my concerns. I would love to do the swap but I don't want a half way completed swap... That just turns into a car that's never running again.

That sucks! So you coming back to the FA20 side of the coin?
