Yeah, like it's not going to make a WORLD of difference but a lot of folks are reporting lower underhood temperatures with this mod. On my short list for sure.

You'd have to compare to the pressure on the internal side. If there is a higher pressure there, then you'll get flow out.

Someone did a set, and was going to do some yarn tuft testing, did pix ever get posted?

I'm more than interested in eating my own words. I shouldn't have said that the area behind the hood was better though. I wasn't thinking straight there.

What I'm more thinking about is whether it is worthwhile. I can't even source my stuff as this was years ago when the platform just came out, but I do remember seeing that area being shown as ineffective. There were plenty of threads about it in the past.

A few pics of the vents I'm doing .
Color is not right and screw forward of the vents wont be there as this is the prototype / plug but gives people a good idea of what it will be so let me know what your thoughts are .

There is just enough space to mount the original 86 emblem in front of the vents but I think it might be better to use a round 86 badge

If there is enough interest in these I might get them made as a service to the 86 community as I think these will do wonders for under hood temps and looks from what mates are saying .

The design looks great! I am almost certain tho that these would be more functional if you could find a way to spread the louver openings a little farther apart and angle them down ever so slightly. The way they are currently angled will cause slight drag although negligible. That is an issue I am currently working on for my design. Going to add a wicker to mine later tonight.

I'm planning on tackling this project

I found this website for perforated metal. Looks promising.
