On this setup it's on the MAP sensor rather than the MAF.

I.e. Sprintex/innovate

But that's not this kit or the Cosworth or the Harrop

So my biggest question is was it worth it??
I want to get this kit as it seems like the best package but I cant make the numbers work in my head. $5400 for 75 more hp....I dont know. I know it sounds like a lot when other mods get you less than 5hp...

Just trying to justify saving up and its hard for those numbers even with this nice kit.

It is very worth it. Unlike just about any other kit I've installed this has like-stock drive ability which is what I wanted. That coupled with the added, useable power makes it very worth it.

$25K for 200hp = $125/hp
$5.5k for 75hp = $73/hp

Seems like a bargain looking at it like this

I know what you mean though, it's nice to hear if owners "seat of the pants" experience justifies the expense. Glad to hear that it has so far for everyone. I'll chime in after I get installed in a couple weeks.

I look at it this way: for that price, you aren't only paying for the hp bump. Ultimately, you are also paying for the forethought and design they put in (ie ease of install, specific hardware like brackets and molded hoses, lack of modification to existing parts, etc.), near stock driveability, pending CARB compliance (if, like me, that's important to you) and a limited power train warranty (although plenty folks will disagree).

Ugh, thank you Brian! I don't understand peoples fascinations with "numbers". And this is not just a hit at the OP, but just a generalization of the the forum lately. HP number gain should not be the first thing people look at. Look at quality of components, ease of maintenance, quality of company(warranty, customer service, etc)provided tune/tuner, power delivery and type(turbo/SC), modification to existing components. Specifically, this Edelbrock kit's quality in all categories, is unmatched at this point. I have a hard time believing the OEMs could produce a better kit.

Obviously if you are looking at FI, it is to get a nice bump in power, but at this point, every kit on the market has the ability to window your block with ease. Most kits for this platform are a tune and a slight hardware change away from making gobs of power. Stop buying for numbers, and start buying for quality!

I wouldn't necessarily look at it as $5400 for 75hp but more like $5400 to complete one of the best cars made.

Before I heard about the Edelbrock SC I was seriously contemplating selling the FR-S for a more complete car that can handle and has enough power. Needless to say my E-force FR-S is a keeper.

I'm currently saving up for some sort of forced induction in 2 or 3 years it's either this or the non intercooled innovate setup, for the price of the edelbrock I could get the innovate setup from r/t tuning in my area for $4923 with a mishimoto radiator, hoses, thermostat and oil cooler kit, saving almost $470 to help pay for the install over the edelbrock:

But it's also 50 hp vs the 70hp+ of the edelbrock, and there well known edelbrock build quality, customer service and warranty , a lot of research needs to be done to figure out what you want from the car

Nearly 50% increase in power that's bolt on in a weekend, street legal, and reliable? That's almost impossible in most cars without an engine swap and brings the car to a ~10 lb/hp power to weight ratio, that's better than most pony cars and Porsche's.

Just another armchair quarterback but I'm excited to pick up one of the CARB legal FI kits in a few years.

^^this. i feel like the supercharger makes me feel that i finally have all the qualities i wanted when i was looking for a car. i didn't 'buy the wrong car' when i bought the BRZ - i knew exactly what i was getting and knew that i'd be modding it down the road. (i don't know why people immediately say 'you bought the wrong car' if you're not completely satisfied with everything about a car. no cookie-cutter car is going to meet everyone's needs and wants perfectly).

nothing else at that time (or even now) met exactly what i was looking for (sports car, 2+2, looks like my old 280Z). there was no 'perfect' car for me; everything considered. with the addition of the edelbrock supercharger, i'm much closer to what i originally had in mind and wanted.

so, for me, it was definitely worthit. money CAN buy happiness
