Got mine mounted up finally. Just washed the car today but it was already getting dark by the time I was done, so no pics yet. But so far, I'm really happy with the purchase!

Awful glare...

Oh, and I did not need to use spline-drives. My Project Kics lug nuts fit just fine. They were an issue on a set of Drags.

Looks great! Are they the 17x9? What are the dimensions of your Continental?

I like the first ones, 17x9 and in a 5x100, nearly the same wieght as the RPF1's hmmm....right when I though I had my wheels figured out lol.

But then again I am about to do a wide body kit so for the car not to look retarded am most likely going to need to run a much different offset might have to start looking into the -25 to -35mm offsets ;(

Yeah, 17x9 +35. I'd call this the perfect 17" size. Those are DW 245/40. Had them on my 17x8 5Zigens (see avatar) and the car got much more "squishy" (this was coming from 225 Michelin PSS). I'm liking the Continentals more on the 9" wide wheels.

So it looks like you shaved off about 14 lbs. of rotational mass over the stock setup and gained over an inch of tire width.

OEM Rims = 20.1 lbs.
GTF1 17x9 = 16.8 lbs.

OEM Michelins = 21.5 lbs.
245/40/17 DW = 21.3 lbs.

You mentioned you switched over from 5 Zigen wheels (already lighter than stock)...

could you tell a difference in the weight reduction over the stock setup?

The 720Form site says they're 16.5 lbs. My 5Zigens (17x8 +48 FN01R-C) were 16.7 lbs. when I weighed them, but I'm pretty sure that was before powdercoating (it's been a while), so that adds a small amount extra.

Since I broke two of the 5Zigens, I had been rolling on the stock wheels/tires for a month or so and yes, I noticed a difference in acceleration right away. At first I thought it was just the cold air, but it's consistent. They're only a smidge lighter than the 5Zigens, and I didn't run them back-to-back, so I can't really compare those two except to reiterate that the 245 feels much better on a 9" vs. 8" wide wheel.

Thanks for confirming that... good stuff.

On a side note... a few forum members have confirmed the weight at 16.8 lbs. for the 17x9 GTF1 and I couldn't find any weight specs on 720form.com

They might have been off a little but I bet your wheel and tire setup weighs 38.1 lbs. with a new 245/40/17 DW.

Enjoy!

Has anyone seen, or have pictures of the GTF3's on a car at all? I have seen pictures in this thread with tires mounted on them, but not a whole car photo. Google searches for them just turn up pictures of GTF2's mostly.

Guess not. Ordered 18x8 gtf3's anyway. Will report with pics when I get them.

Nice, what are you thinking? I've always loved red w/ bronze or gold.

Bronze is under consideration, I don't like gold and white looks dirty all the time. A dark graphite may also happen.
