What he said! I'm currently on a similar quest since coffee was altering me to the point of wanting to rip some people head's off. I tried some green tea and surprisingly, it does have the pick-me-up effect, with less upset stomach and related symptoms.

I'd also try drinking some straight coffee, no milk or any other "filler". That way you can "really drink" coffee, and have less of a problem with it.

As a home coffee roaster, this thread caught my eye. OP is probably on his third car since owning a twin, but a few points...

1. A Keurig machine, or any other with a tank should be checked and cleaned regularly. Even if you only pour in filtered water, if some water stays in the tank, stuff can start growing. Stuff that can make your stomach pretty unhappy.

2. Indonesian coffees are generally some of the lowest acid by origin. Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, etc... Darker roasts will have less acidity. 100% Aribica (all specialty coffee) will be lower acid as well.

3. Try cold brew. Dump water and coffee in a jar together, shake or stir it gently and put it in the fridge for a day. Pour it out through a filter. You can make it strong and add hot water, or drink it cold. Cold brewing extracts less acidic stuff from the beans.

Time for another cup...

the acidity is mainly in the oils on top.

if you use a drip machine, pull the carafe or basket/porta-filter before it finishes.

if you use a Keurig, my sympathies.
