Hello everyone,

I'm just back from Brussels Motor Show that some of you may have heard of and, wonder what, the first thing I did was running directly to the Toyota stand.

Even if they did not bring the production version (they still showed the 2nd concept), they DID announce a price! I found it quite weird but along with the concept car was a small pannel quoting :

GT-86
Price: 31,000.00 EUR

I do not know if one can trust this but at least I think it's the first time they do disclose a price officially in a motor show. It is, of course, fuck***y expensive... too bad!

I have taken a dozen of picture, I'll upload them later when I'll be back on my own computer.

Beside, I'm not reading this forum often so if this info is nothing but new, please ignore it

you cant say EU pricing because it also depends which country you talk about. Also we dont have a clue what options will be offered... 31.000 for base model in germany for example would be kind of shocking... i dont think this is going to happen.

  • 23.050,00 € R.S. 2.0 16V (3 deuren)
  • 25.200,00 € Gordini R.S. 2.0 16V (3 deuren)
  • 26.650,00 € Ange & Démon R.S. 2.0 16V (3 deuren)
no options.

And... it's normal to ask for/get a discount on the advertised price.

Other than RWD, COG, DRAG and DI the GT86 has nothing more than a Clio RS in terms of weight and power. If the GT86 costs as much as a Megane RS it will flop in EU, and I honestly don't want it too happen.

Well, that price isn't that high, if you compared to another Toyota model. For example nicely equipped diesel Avensis cost way over 30.000 euros. (Automatic diesel unit whoppingly over 40.000) I cant see that GT86 is cheaper than 2.0 diesel avensis...

Just to let you know some more prices from germany:

Clio RS Cup starts around 17k
Hyundai Genesis Coupe V6 from 27k upwards
("german" versions not "EU" - Imports)

What other cars are you thinking about if the BRZ / GT86 will be too expensive or don´t feel as good as you hope?

Clio RS is about £16k in the UK

I think the closest match to the FT-86's price will be the Mugen CR-z though which is £23k

according to the japanese price sheets, the 86 costs 2.3m yen and so does the mugen cr-z

a used porsche cayman or bmw 335i or possibly an e92 m3 if the price comes down a couple of 000 (because of the m4) are my alternatives

I would like a bike again though, so MV f3, KTM, Duke 690, Triumph Daytona 675
