Nice build! Very cool watching you do your own custom work. Keep it up!

Here’s the rundown on the wiring harness changes. Basically I pulled the wires for things I won’t or can’t use. There are three plugs to the PCM, X1, X2 and X3 and I only pulled wires from X1 and X2. There were a few other wires in the harness that I didn’t know what they did and I pulled them.

X1 – Pulled Wires
Pin Description
9 Fuel Tank Sensor
10 Fuel Tank Sensor
25 Fuel Level Sensor
26 Fuel Level Sensor
27 Fuel Level Sensor
44 Fuel Pump Relay Control
66 EVAP Vent Control
70 Accessory Wakeup
72 Coil Relay Control

X2 – Pulled Wires
12 O2 Sensor 2
13 O2 Sensor 2
28 O2 Sensor 2
29 O2 Sensor 2
42 O2 Sensor 2
51 EVAP Purge Control
60 Oil Level Signal
62 O2 Sensor 2

Power Requirements to Harness
2 15 amp ignition circuits for Coils
1 15 AMP ignition circuit for MAF
1 15 AMP ignition circuit for 2 O2 sensors
1 15 AMP constant battery circuit for PCM
1 15 AMP ignition circuit for PCM

Harness Connections to rest of car
AC Relay – Don’t exactly know about this as of yet. Need to check with MRS-Collin
6 connections for gas pedal
2 Connection for LAN (MRS-Collins device)
Ignition
3 – AC pressure sensor signals
Fan relay low
Fan relay high
Check engine light – Need to check with MRS-Collin if needed
Park Neutral Signal – Starter??? Don’t know if this is needed
Starter Relay signal??? Don’t think this is needed as the FRS systems should provide this
Cruise Brake Signal??? Need to review
Brake Clutch Signal??? Need to review

Current Performance Fuse Box
This box will provide the fused ignition power as well as fused battery power to the harness/PCM. I’m assuming I’ll tie the Ignition and Starter Relay signal in this fuse box to the FRS Ignition and Starter relay signals.
Fans relays will be tied to the LFX PCM.
This box has the AC Compressor relay but I’m not exactly sure how this will be driven yet. I would guess it’s either the FR-S relay or the LFX PCM. I would assume it’ll have to come through the LFX PCM as it watches the pressure in the system and needs to be able to switch it off. I need to ping Collin and get his thoughts.

This box also has a relay circuit for the fuel pump but I’m assuming the FRS systems will take care of that.

As a sidebar,, the pulley bracket goes to welding tomorrow.

How far along are you??
Not very. I test fit mine with no oil pan, and clearing the firewall while keeping the front sway is a tight fit. There is no front sump option for the Ford so I've cut up a 3.5 FWD pan and will make that work.

When going through the wiring harness I noticed there were no pins for the VSS (Speed Sensor in Transmission) which I guess is normal for an automatic car. I did a few searches and came across a Miata swap thread where the OP was struggling with the same issue as he was trying to pass emissions for a street car. It turns out the PCM really needs to be from a manual car to support the VSS and due to a few additional issues a 2012 PCM is really the way to go (E39 versus an E39A PCM). Also,, V8Roadsters only mods the E39 PCM not the E39A. I’m chasing one down,,, looks to be about $100.
There are a couple of good build threads here...

What are you needing the VSS for?

Edit: Nevermind. Found the answer in the thread.

Finishing up the pulley bracket. It's back from welding and mounted. Only real issue is I cant mount the pulley until the bracket is on the car as the pulley is in the way of a bolt on front of the bracket. That means the AC compressor needs to be out of the way so I can access the pulley nut from the bottom. Shade tree engineering.

Alignment looks good with the addition of 2 washers between the pulley and bracket. Stock Camaro belt fits perfect.

Fabbed up a plug for the EVAP port in the manifold. Will put some gasket goop on the plug when it's bolted in.

Need to work on the wiring harness a bit more. I need to come up with some plugs between the engine harness and the body so I can disconnect the motor for pulling without pulling harness off motor.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I don't get on here much and don't get email notifications. I see you've sorted out a pulley.

Unfortunately, there isn't a publicly accessible Holden parts database. I have a VF Commodore though (With a 3L LFW but should be externally the same as a LFX) so send me a PM if you need any pics or anything in the future.

Still collecting parts. New PCM is in, $120 shipped, weatherpack connectors and crimpers. Needed to order an isolator for the transmission and went to measure the width OC for the bolt holes. Found one of the bolt holes broken (see pic). Frickin recyclers,, I've got the absolute worst luck with them and should know to check over every parts with a fine tooth comb. I suspect I can use the second set but I'll need to grind down that rib.

Also I've attached the running and estimated costs to date. $4.7K + $3K or just shy of $8K. Of course this doesn't include any monies from selling the FA20 and trans. If you see anything I may be missing let me know,,, I know I'm light on the AC stuff as of yet but otherwise should be pretty close. Well, at least for the bigger ticket items. I will say it's adding up faster than I expected.

My TR-6060 had one of the eyes that hold the shifter down broken. I contacted the recycler and they agreed to pay for the part (trans. tail housing) with some money on top for labor. Call and ask if they'd work with you on the issue.

Not a bad idea I'll try. It's been 5 weeks or so since I've gotten it so don't know if they'll step up,,, but never hurts to try.

Really cool project! It is nice to see something other than an LS or 2j.

A DOHC V6 fits the character of the car very well, I think. But did you give any thought to GM's new Gen 6 4.3 ohv V6? Basically and LT1 Motor with 2 of the cylinders lopped off. I'm eyeing one for a swap eventually.
