Opticoat -- Worth it?

I've been reading more and more stuff about this Opticoat. Does anyone have experience with it? I just recently got my whole front clearbra, and I was thinking of opticoating my whole car.

I'm with you on ^ this. Since Opti Guard/Coat is permanent once applied and will always show the paint condition from when it is applied, it made sense for me to spend some money to have the paint correction / prep done professionally. You also want someone who has experience applying it, working to ensure the coat is put down correctly. The person who applied mine did a pretty cool video applying it to my car - check it out.

I have clear bra on mine right now, so opticoat can go on top of the clear bra with no adverse affect?

I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have opticoat, but it seems a bit overkill/redundant because it does the same job as factory clear coat which, if you keep your car garaged and clean, should already be more than enough. If your car is kept outside and regularly exposed to the elements then opticoat makes sense. I'm skeptical of it having an "always waxed" look; it seems like it would accumulate the same imperfections as stock clear coat.

Clear bra, however, is more worth it due to inevitable front end nicks and road debris/asphalt embedment.

Ive been thinking about doing it more and more recently, but this makes me wonder if its worth it. Does it when washed just regain those annoying scratch marks from drying it?

OC does not absolve you from proper washing/drying techniques. It's just like an additional protective clear coat on top of your clear coat. It can and will still scratch. You can buff if out, but that will also remove some of the OC. I believe the manufacturer has stated in some of the detailing forums that you can probably get away with buffing it once, but any more and OC will most likely have to be reapplied.

Ive been doing as much as i can with not doing circler motions, using two buckets, and going with a light touch on the drying with clean microfiber towels, but i am still getting some of the small scratches here and there

I dry using a blower. With the OC on, the water just sheets right off. The only time a microfiber cloth touches the paint is if I'm using a quick detailer in between washes or to remove bugs or bird poop.
