The power increase wasn't seen for 3 model years. And no I would not say there are problems with these engines. There have been issues, but that is fairly common with any new vehicle. Besides, what does problems with an engine have to do with power increases as you suggest?

Significant upgrades would be made for a mid-model refresh, after sales start tapering off. Demand is still high so it doesn't make sense to spend money retooling for upgrades. They'll likely address quirks/flaws that weren't caught in the preproduction phase.

i have it on good authority we can expect to see a new front fascia, new body kit from five:AD previously unseen as standard, Kaaz 7-way LSD, full underbody panels, an interior color change, new rear taillights design, and all weather tires, all standard.

A flux capacitor boost would make it fast , economical and even more fun to drive.

Your good authority will be wrong (unless I'm missing the sarcasm in your post).

definitely missing the sarcasm. Im not aware of a 7way differential of any sort without violating some serious physics. The rest was just sarcastic passive-aggressive garbage.

Subaru could pull a WRX or Mustang and introduce a new engine, it doesn't matter, you can always upgrade. Is it likely? No. Could it happen? Sure. Let people speculate, it's an open forum! :happy0180: I'm really curious about the engineering prototype and hope to see that offered as a model for 2014. If the rumors are true |

I've worked in product/part development for Toyota, and other major manufacturers to know how the process works (and why it works). NO problems at all listening to rumors about the 2014 model, but I also have the right to say my opinion (in an "open forum"). Call me out on these posts when the 2014 model arrives, and I'm wrong. Until then it's speculation (both ways).

I think realistically, they won't change anything major with the mechanics. Just fix the common "problem" parts (ie light condensation, chirping, trunk issues, etc). Even though it looks to me like they already handled these things. It doesn't seem like anyone who got their FRS after summer 2012 is having these issues.
They better include an actual nav system though. When I heard the bespoke unit was "navigation, but no gps", I just thought "...whaaat". Almost bought it too. |
