Exciting things happening at Sonoma Raceway!
The past few weekends here at Sonoma have been very eventful!
On May 25th, the 86Drive Challenge came to our home track; Sonoma Raceway. Our driver, Ovik, piloted the WORKS Turbo BRZ for the second time this season. After making some suspension adjustments since round one; the car is feeling much more balanced. Unfortunately, the track was relatively congested and resulted in a few incidents between other drivers. This left little room for Ovik to get a clean lap in. The following weekend, the raceway hosted the first Sonoma Speed Festival. A bit of a pace change from the 86’s we know and love. Hundreds of familiar historic racecars got in on the action; ranging pre-war open wheel Bugatti’s to Porsche 917k’s to retro modern Le Mans prototypes. Seeing the McLaren F1 GTR on track was a real treat! The guys over at RADwood hosted a corral within the event showcasing an array of 80’s and 90’s legends. That Cosworth is a real eye catcher! More and more events are popping up as we get deeper into the race season. Drag and drift nights on Wednesday’s are an exciting way to get in on the action. Bring your friends and family and come check it out!

I would hate to have a new GT3 peppered with rocks and debris, very cringeworthy! The Cosworth caught our eyes, however the R33 next to it is arguably as cool. As the weekend progressed; the corral filled with more RAD cars. We're excited to check out the next event at the tail end of the summer! |
