I will throw mine on as soon as it arrives using my existing tune for a short period while I obtain a new tune.
Installing headers increase the VE of the motor and thus will make you run lean as there is more flow through the motor. On a MAF tune, not sure but, it shouldn't be a huge issue but on a SD hybrid tune it will.

My tune definitely went lean after installing the JDL UEL headers and had to be corrected. I might have the comparison AFR curves somewhere I'll take a look...

Okay guys, our PTUNING Laminova Oil Cooler System is still on schedule for early August delivery. Our first batch of custom molded, top quality, 5-ply silicon radiator hoses are complete.

We've pre-molded a provision for our included billet aluminum bleeder valve on one of the lower radiator hoses. Our plan is to develop an optional racing style, self-bleeding, air separator/fill tank system to work with this oil cooler system.

Our custom-designed CNC-machined PTUNING billet alumnum oil block adapters and optional PTUNING oil temp/pressure sender block are currently being anodized and engraved and should be done by the end of the week. As always, all of our components are manufactured in the USA using only the best quality domestic materials.

We're hoping to ship our first batch of pre-ordered oil cooler systems by the beginning to middle of next week. If you have not yet pre-ordered your oil cooler system and would like to do so now, please PM us.

Our first production header should be completed very shortly. Once we complete the final fitment and testing of this header, they will go into full production and should hopefully be available shortly thereafter.

Get with me when you're ready to and we can work on an eTune for your car and possibly even one with our new WMI system in place too.

Since our WMI systems are just about ready to ship, I figure I'd post up some teaser pics of the PnP prototype return-style, flex-fuel system that we've been testing for the past 5-6 months.

For those with readily available E85, our fuel system will meet the fueling needs of any stock and just about any built motor set-up. For those looking to make obscene amounts of power, 700-1000+whp, I'm sure we could build you a custom twin swirl pot fuel system.

We've been using our shop car for daily driving as well as on the track and at autocrosses. This fuel system has enabled us to make 500whp on E67 with 770cc port injectors and a Walbro 485 E85 fuel pump. It's also allowed us to run full bore at the track with less than 1/4 tank fuel or even with the low fuel light on, without any fuel starvation issues under high-G cornering loads. Since it only needs to be fed by the stock in-tank fuel pump, your interior fuel pump noise levels remain nice and low.

We plan on putting this complete fuel system into production shortly.

Fully PnP fuel connections with custom return block adapter.

Flex Fuel Sensor bracketry

Fuel swirl-pot surge tank with in-tank Walbro 485 E85 fuel pump (prototype)

We plan on putting this complete fuel system into production shortly.

Our first production PTUNING T304 SS 4-1 Double-Slip Race Header has just been completed. We'll be doing a final, final, test fitment along with a few other checks before we produce the first batch of production headers. We're hoping to be able to start shipping the first orders out by the beginning of next month.

We'd like to thank all of our pre-order customers for their patience. The wait will be well worth it.

Very exciting stuff!

Toan, I've heard () that you're able to do some pretty amazing things with your tune regarding spool and low end on pump gas. Does your E85/flexfuel tune make sizable gains on the low end compared to 93, at the same boost level? Would be nice to see a 93 plot overlaid on an E85 plot at say.. 7psi.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear that our customers are enjoying the full potential of their PTUNING turbo systems with our dyno-proven eTunes.

There will definitely be improvements in the low to mid-range torque at lower boost levels over pump gas. However, the gains will be greatest at mid to upper rpm's when the engine is really moving a lot of air.

On a 10 psi tune with E67, we gained about 50-60whp over 93 pump gas. With WMI at the same boost levels, we're able to gain a solid 20whp over 93 pump gas.

I'll see if I can dig up the appropriate dyno graphs. It may take me a while though, since I've logged thousands of dyno pulls between a bunch of different cars running our turbo system.

And many more on cars that don't.

Track Review:

The Good:

The kit and my engine made it through 2 days of intense road course duty in the blistering heat.

Toan's (ptuning's master tuner) etune was fantastic on track. Power delivery is smooth and instantaneous (which is very mysterious as this turbo is quite large). I forgot I had a turbo out there as there is no "lag" or "transient delay" which is something I was worried about dealing with.

He also has many failsafe systems in place like overboost protection, high coolant temp deactivates the boost solenoid, lower fan activation temp etc. I can tell he has put a ton of time and effort into this tune. I would highly recommend etuning with him as he is very responsive and thorough. He will call you to discuss things with you at length which was surprising as I had never experienced that before with tuners.

On the street this etune feels like a stock calibration in that it is buttery smooth and generates amazing low end grunt for it being a GT3076. Serious voodoo magic going on here.

The Bad:

The ambient summer heat + the added power this turbo system creates overloads the cooling systems (both coolant and oil). A perrin 13 row setrab cooler will not suffice. After 2-3 hot laps in the heat the oil temps were heading north of 260F and coolant was heading north of 230F. Both the stock radiator and the koyo exhibited the same weakness. There might be another explanation for the high coolant temperatures but this theory needs to be proven first (something to do with where the water coming from the turbo is exhausted back into the coolant flow).

The heat of the exhaust piping melted the supplied sway bar bushing (the ptuning kit comes with a new sway bar and bushing). Apparently, Ptuning is taking care of this issue in the form of a heat shield of some sort. They are sending me a free bushing and a heat shield to test out.

The Ugly:
I went through a quarter tank of 100 octane ($9/gal) per 20 min session. My wallet took a massive hit... (100 octane just for peace of mind in the scorchin heat). This car at ~270 whp drinks a lot of fuel now. Hahahaha

Conclusion:
Car is freakin awesome! Prior to this kit I had the innovate twin screw. I like this a whole lot better.

(No it is not an off-road track lol)

Sounds like you put it thru its paces! Love the result and the bad wasn't as bad as I expected haha. I am going to try and get some proper hot weather testing in before the summer is over (although lately our weather has been mild).
