Was the current draw actually measured or based on the ESC advertised rating?

I wonder how well this system would work with E85. With the right map running E85 and an electrocharger, or whatever the heck you call these things, could provide some very strong gains.

That it would. But we don't have E85.

Finally, the dyno I've been begging for.

@Robftss since it seems like a lot of us have different ideas about how to improve/modify this have you considered selling a 'Tuner' kit that just had the compressor and motor at a discounted price?

Just a thought.

NA cars hit over 200whp on e85, I'd say you could expect the same 20-30whp more.

Update

Got the new recharger system installed and have to say it makes a dramatic difference in recharge time. Doing some test runs from 0 - 200 km/h resulted in recharge to 28v in about 10 seconds.... essentially the time it took me to slow back down to 80km/hr.

You can just drive and drive it and the second you let off it the recharge begins to sore immediately. I have stated many times that i didnt have a problem with the recharge rate on the street but this will really help out the guys that will be trying this on autocross and on the road course.

The one time i DID notice the recharge was with the BMW races. We did about 15 pulls in different gears most times back to back. After about 15 minutes of abuse it was taking longer than it did on the street.

This system also has the added benefit of getting the rechargers and batteries warmed up quicker which help you get to optimal temps for dumping the most juice to the charger.

Rob has also fitted a larger battery tray and with it we are able to run essentially the stock battery size with the dump batteries on the side. This will help me with starting in the winter. Total weight increase over stock with current battery setup is 9 lbs.

Here is a pick of the new layout.

Some pictures the other day when butang and I were both getting some test stuff at Robs shop.

Two electric supercharged unicorns in such close proximity is a rare occasion. Lol.

Is the new rapid charger bolted to the battery? Also I got version 1.5 yesterday the new battery plate and fan. Looking forward to getting caught up with you guys in the next few weeks. Will likely have the ecutek tune done sometime soon. Until then the only cel code is is tied to high manifold and intake pressure from the sensors.

After reviewing the logs it looks like the new double recharger system really does help the system preform at its best....we are getting consistently .3 psi more across the entire rpm band.

Anyone have suggestions for a good water meth setup? I'm thinking cooling the charge would have a pretty dramatic effect on the power potential.

We have a appointment on a dyno jet this time for august 21st to get closer apples to apples to others results
