Temporary paint protection (3M, VVivid, etc)

Hi,
I'd like to protect some parts of my car, only for the winter.
I already have Xpel film for the entire front (bumper and full hood/fender).
But last winter I noticed that the paint between the door and rear wheel gets a beating (it's at an angle).
So I'd like to put tape there, but only for the winter, because I hate that you see the edge if you only do a small section. Maybe also do the front of the roof.

So I need something that would be easy to remove in the spring.
I saw VVivid film on amazon. Did someone use it? It's like a quarter of the price of the 3M. But does it still protect enough against rock, and will I curse at it when I remove it?

Have you thought about XPel Tracwrap? I have it (haven't had to use it yet)

Not sure how it handles being put on long term

Have you considered some rock guards? I have them on my car and they do a great job of protecting the car from debris thrown from my own tires. They don't have to be an obnoxious color, either.

I thought about that, but the price is similar to 3M tape, and I've heard that some temporary tape (or cheap permanent tape) have an adhesive that can damage the paint if left long term.

I have Rally armor mud flaps, and the part behind the doors is still getting sandblasted... They use ridiculous amount of sand and small rock on the roads in the winter here. I think most of the rock chips are coming from the cars in front of me, or in opposite lanes. Just this morning someone in the opposite lane threw a rock that came straight in my windshield and left a star shape chip that I had to get repaired.
