Backup Camera Install?

Hi everyone! So, I've read through countless forums and watched almost all of the installation videos for a backup camera in the FRS.

However, I am still confused about all the wiring, especially the reverse trigger wire.

I was wondering if there is anyone in NE Portland who can install a backup camera for me.

I have a Sony XAV-AX100 Headunit and am still looking around for a camera to purchase. Thanks in advance!

It's pretty simple. There's a tiny pink wire you need to solder and conenct to your head unit to communicate to your HU that you're in reverse. The wire is found in the left bottom corner panel.

Then you need to connect the camera power of your choice to a power source (most people seem to use the reverse light, the one at the bottom of the rear bumper).

Where would I be able to purchase this wire separately if I have my own camera kit?

Are you referring to the pink wire I mentioned?
It's already a part of your car .. you need to strip some of the wire cover.

I meant the reverse trigger wire, sorry. The one that connects from the HU to the pink wire.

The wire may have been packaged in with your Sony HU when you first bought it, with the camera you purchase, or you may have to buy one at Radioshack or some other electronic shop.

Check if there is an unused cable that plugs into the HU that corresponds to your HU's reverse trigger port.
