5. The answer is 5.
They are much easier to avoid these days. Not nearly the presence there was back then.

Truthfully I enjoyed my first BRZ more after returning it back to stock because I had less to worry about when driving it. No $3000 wheels to scrape off a curb, no loud exhaust to piss off the neighbors, no harsh ride from being lowered, no crazy custom interior to keep immaculately clean, etc. My '17 is really nice just having basic suspension mods, tires, exhaust and a few small aesthetic upgrades.

Not coincidental that all three of those are generally found together. Usually with a stock or near stock engine and an owner that really loves the word "haters".

For some odd reason if you live in CA, it's illegal to have yellow fog lights.

Forester oil cooler; starting to think the coolant routing of the forester is different than the BRZ because this thing does nothing. No difference street driving and still hit 270F oil temp at the track.

I have one, it does nothing for cooling because it is not a cooler. (yes, debatable, if you consider it does stablize your oil for a very short time), then it's heat soaked.

Still my NA has never had oil temps over 120°c, and generally sits at around 95-100° c, 110-115°c when I'm leaning on it usually.

I concider these temps good.

The thing has no effect at all on my coolant temps.

Its function is to bring UP your oil temps from cold, which it does well, the quicker your oil temps come up the quicker you can thrash it without eating your engine.

My temps are in the same range of yours without an oil cooler, almost spot on.

I think Germany is similar: literally everything seems to be illegal there.

Yes. You have very limited options.

One part of the truth is because they want to control the aftermarket business and protect their own companies. If a customer wants a performance package, then he should go with the factory options and nothing else. The other part of the truth is that the day to day driving conditions are much more demanding. Most of the cars worldwide will not see in public (not in race tracks) the abuse they see here in the autobahn with the no speed limits. So, they want to control what owners change on their cars for safety reasons. If you search deeper, maybe these two are connected. The second is a kind of excuse, but the main reason is the first. Anyway ...
