How helpful has this thread been? Every post has essentially a different header recommendation...This is why these threads are worthless. I suggest doing your own research regarding your price point and wants and go from there.

You're better off doing your own research. People are going to be bias to whatever header they bought. Vendors will jump on and say buy their header. So this thread is pretty useless.

Agree! Also best header and best header for the money are two very different things. Also there isn't a best header, because someone might want to make midrange power, some might want to make higher end power. Some people losing the flat 4 rumble is better and some don't.

I'll put my 2 cents in, I think the Gruppe-S header for the money is pretty unbeatable. IMHO

Is a tune required for a Catted UEL?

(not really concerned about HP gains - just want the Boxer rumble louder)

A catted header vastly decreases the chances of throwing a CEL, although it can still happen. So I suppose you don't need a tune for a catted UEL so long as you know that you might throw a code someday.

Do you have any data to support that? I've been looking everywhere and haven't found any dyno results.

I'm pretty sure these are a carbon copy of the tomei uel with slightly thinner flanges. So look at tomei uel dynos until someone does a dyno of the gruppe-s.

My opinion is based off the quality and Tomei dyno charts. Talk to Bob at Drift Office as I suspect he will be one of the first to install and dyno the Gruppe-s.

They're very similar but definitely not a copy. The bends in the piping are distinctively different and there are more differences noted in the following post.

You're right, the long runners do appear different. Thanks for the clarification
