Same with the Fit. For subies is it pull up then to the left? Or is it push down to the left?

It should be push down, and then shift to where 1st gear would be.

Volkswagen has the same setup on their manual transmissions, reverse is actually to the left of 1st, and you will have to either push down, or pull up on the lockout to get there (the BRZ looks like you will have to pull up), so no worries about accidentally going into reverse at a light...

It will according to the driver manual available on line. I just typed subaru brz manual pdf and I found it. This is a jealous site, it even blocks the mention of competing forums.

We got our first shipment of 4 FR-S Scions yesterday. I took lots of pics. Here's a Firestorm 6-Speed fresh off the truck sitting in our service bay. First we activate the electronics then perform a pre-delivery inspection. This car was the superstar on the lot. We also received two Argentos (silver) and a Raven (black).

PM me for real info on this amazing modern day classic. I'll post more pics later. This one's just a teaser. This car is quite striking in person.
