It is PrimeMotoring’s car. I don’t think there is a build thread here. The RB engine had a build thread.

has anyone successfully used this ecu to control all factory functions? I've only seen it in a racecar. finding someone to tune it is another issue. One of the reasons we went with an M1 ecu, among many other things

According to the manufacturer, yes. EXCEPT cruise control. But only because it's always been used with drive-by-cable throttle bodies. He is developing a drive -by-wire throttle body for the LS engines now. I expect when/if that is completed, then cruise control will again operate

Me and Vijay were just discussing this. It's likely you could use an aftermarket unit to control Cruise by itself

I've been looking at this setup:

http://k-tuned.3dcartstores.com/New-...ocks_b_58.html

I think for guys that don't care about AC it is an easy button for the belt drive system.

Thoughts?

K-Tuned makes great products. This bracket says it will take B or D series alternators which means cheap replacements if one ever goes bad. Who needs AC anyways?

I know I dont need an AC, or cruise control, or traction control, or SC control, or the OEM dash (any dash will do, like an AIM unit). ABS would be nice, but I can live without as well. I really just hope my stock engine will last enough for this kit to be finished. Yeah, I just need it for a race car, and I just need tiny wee bit more power (like 220whp or so), reliability and cheap replacements and lighter than OEM, which is why this swap has my name all over it.

Sounds like you don't need anything more than what is already available. If you don't need any of the features the car currently has (like ABS, TC, ETC) then you can bolt in just about any motor, get a custom drive shaft, stand alone ecu, and a gauge cluster that works with that computer. Easy peasy. It's getting all the"optional" amenities working that is the hard part

Hell, throw a carbed V8 in there. Then you don't even need an ecu

??? I’m utterly confused why you would spend over ten thousand on this swap for something that is achievable on the stock motor with bolt ons, e85 and a tune. If you aren’t going to buy the motec then you will save some money but still be in the hole for a lot more money.

Clearly you have no idea what a K series can do with E85 and a tune...
Get one built, and I've seen them make over 500, N/A.
