Tune file sent from tuner incompatible for ECU, am I doing something wrong?

Am I doing something wrong or did the tuner send the wrong type of ECU file. 2019 BRZ manual with PP. I am trying to upload a stage 2 base tune from my tuner in their first email they sent me. I follow instructions and query the ROM and I try to program the ECU with the file they emailed be but I get an error:

Am I doing something wrong, or did I receive an incompatible file? I emailed them back, but I don't think they will reply on Sunday and I need to be able to drive my car Sunday so I am asking the community.

Thank you for any help!

You didnt do anything wrong.

Ecutek software has a compatablilty list if your rom am
D the tuners rom are not listed as compatable then ecutek wont let you flash.

Jist talk to deloceous and fheg will send you correct file calibration id.

Those roms are likely compatavle its jist ecutek saying its not sure

Is there no way to force flash it any more?

I haven't updated in a while but S10C isn't in my ROM list so EcuTek may not have it. I would suggest taking a ROM dump to submit to EcuTek and/or DT for them to forward on.

I don’t see a way to force it to flash. How long do you think it’d take to get the correct and updated rom for this new ECU? I need to be able to drive my car tomorrow but am worried it’ll take a while. I might just put my stock headers back on for the mean time, what a headache.

there is always the same way to force a flash , won't come from me because i do not know what could happen if it actually not compatible, but there are lots of other people here who know how to force the flash on ecutek
Nothing should happen anyway as steve already said

Yes its possible to overide ecutek safety and force write it. Not just a option in software any more though. Not something id recomend a novice user do though.

Hes better talking to deliceous and submitting rom dump like @Kodename47 said, might take a few days for correct rom though

I wouldn't. I heard the 2019 actually has 2 different ECU hardware variants, not just software/ROM.

Thanks for the insight. Hopefully it won’t take long to get a new tune developed. Wonder why they made two.

If you only changed the header, you can safely drive it with your stock tune.

Seems strange, you have any evidence of the different ecu hardware. They seem to have different part numbers for each firware update so different part number doent necessarly mean different hardware.

Ecu has remained same , not sure why some 2019 would need differnt ecu hardware notging rearly changed since 2017, possible though

It is safe to drive? I installed Tomei UEL catless headers and that’s it. I can drive it with stock tune?

Yes, it's safe to drive. You may develop a CEL and lose your cruise control, but the car won't blow up or suffer any damage.

Take it with a huge grain of salt. However, the fact that we don't have visibility into the details means we can't just blindly assume the difference is just a map update.
