Yeah I did the CF DSS I like the quickness off the line really goes with the lighter wheels and pulleys all together. If you check my other threads I made a wind blocker for underneath the rear bumper it only added 2lbs using coroplast. Im thinking of doing the tunnel area next should only add 1lb tops. Wont be as durable as aluminum but many people on the ecomodder forums have success and its only $9 for a big sheet. Just get the cheap $9 tender its low amps which is what you want for the Shorai batteries. https://www.harborfreight.com/automa...ger-69955.html |

@SuperTom
Nice I had 3 harbor freight coupons for this. got the tender, cutoff tool, and 6” magnetic tray 36$ shipped. You’ll have to let me know how your tunnel panels workout. The ones I’m looking at are 160$ with all hardware looks really nice, but I can see it being an easy diy I wonder if I can get all the hardware and brackets you used for the mount, and the heat shield wrap al on amazon? Save me a trip to Home Depot. |

@SuperTom
So I found all brackets on amazon. About to order it. I don’t understand how you fastened the battery cage, you used 2 10mm bolts are those bolted into the the battery bracket holding down the cage or does the cage just sit around those and it aides the tie downs from keeping it moving? It looks like the 2 side brackets you cut cover up the two holes on the middle bracket. |

I just went ahead and ordered the Mishimoto slim fan setup in black. I have off work a week in mid Sept and will accomplish this. Im hoping to save at least 5lbs with the driver side fan removed (won't need since I don't have AC)
Also looking for some kind of sound deadening on the firewall?? for 6lbs and will tackle the remaining sound deadening in the car for another 5lbs. Too save another 15lbs that week would be a great accomplishment would put me at ~2460lbs! |

Just got got the shroud installed. Didn’t weigh the mishimoto, but the stock one was
7lbs 5.4oz , so no weight loss.... Pretty much got my shorai Mount all set to go, prob mount it this weekend. Did a little differently, no power tools required and cheaper too. |

Cool cant wait to see your mount. Will be awesome if its lighter. I think mine after cutting it down was only ~1lb I'm also going to work on getting rid of the sound deadening in a few weeks and just keep carpet so it still appears stockish. That's really the end goal appear stockish and DD'able but light as possible |

Header back -16lbs, losing spare / tools -30lbs and battery swap -24lbs. -70lbs so far. Thinking rear seat needs to go next. Then maybe new driver / passenger seats and or DSS CF driveshaft. That should get me to a solid -140lbs with out sacrificing any DDing comfort. Then maybe I’ll save up and supercharger in a year or two.

You could probably just remove the stock driver fan and save the same weight. The mishimoto is sweet though and hey if I ever go FI in the future it will be there |

I think I got you by about 6oz, that paint, foam, heat shield, battery terminal extenders add up quick. Look at my 1st pic mount 13 3/4oz yours 1lbs 5oz not painted. I probably used a little more foam and heat shield though. Got kind of carried away.
Mounted it and took her out for a spin. Thing is more secure then stock mount. Looks almost oem sitting in there lol. Didn’t see you said lost 10oz at end post. So pretty close. Thanks for the ideas though. |

Fanshroud was a little disappointing but she does look beautiful sitting in there and a fun little project to keep my modding addiction happy for now.
