What are some good slippery narrow tires?
The stock tires are to0 grippy for my style of driving. Has anyone tried how fun narrow tires be. This car really seems to come alive in the wet and with narrow tires I can flick hair pins at much lower speeds.
Some of us don't want to go fast just to feel the car. Last edited by PowderfaceTr.; 06-02-2013 at 05:32 PM. |

Considering that this car doesn't have enough power to drift with sticky tires (sorta), i don't think its a good idea to go less grippy then stock, you'll just end up in a tree somewhere. When you wanna use over steer, you don't wanna lose all grip...something tells me you don't know that...

The stock tires are narrow and in no way too sticky. These are Prius tires after all.

By it self, the Michelin is a pretty good every day tire, does good in the rain, has a great tread life and isn't loud on the road. Horrible on gravel however.

Yea believe it or not, some people dont care about lap times and grip. As for narrow ties I would say the cheaper the better in this case, like Dorals or Linglongs. I had a set of cheap lexani tires (yea they make tires) and they had noooooo grip at all. Other Achillies atr's are always a good start.

But I'd agree, there's plenty of fun to be had on the stock Michelin's. |

seing how no one has provided and answer yet. ima go with some cheap used tired for the back only, burn em up then replace, or some cheap store brand tired at discount or ntb.

Get 4 donuts and put them on the car. Instant drift monster.

Do burn outs until no tread left on rear wheels, rotate and repeat burn outs. Drive like you stole it in the rain; you'll find what you're looking for.

Lots of grip = No fun = No skill noob railing corners like an amusement park ride. If I wanted a car that drives itself I'd get an R8 or a TTRS or an STI. Rich people cant drive so they put in an AWD with computer to do it for them. My point is you can take a seasoned touring racer and put them in a dirt oval sprint car, and watch hilarity ensue. All that grip gives you bad habits, and once you get in to high HP to weight cars you will wish you had those all rubber ice race skills. |
