I'm not running lean, I was about to be though. I was pushing 550 injectors a little hard and my ethanol content changed and I hit my failsafe after a few thanks of e85. Turned the boost down and I'm fine. Bigger injectors go in next month.

It looks to me like they are popping due to overboost from mechanical or tuning problems or running too lean from a bad tune.

There is always going to be a block/rod limit and a knock limit and an idiot limit for this motor in stock form. You reach that limit and your motor is going to blow and we have examples of all three.
