@protpibe: Can I ask where you wired your grounds for the MTX-D gauge? Mine just came in yesterday, and I'm looking around under the dash to see which wires I can use. There are 3 black wires that should be put into a ground source, could I just put all 3 in one place?

I'm pretty sure you can just wire the ground anywhere. I'll see if I can look up the original post, but I think just did a chassis ground. You can also ground them all to the same spot.

I think this was the thread I referenced when wiring my gauges

Find a bolt that goes through metal and put the three black wires into a ring terminal and place under the bolt. You can also sand down the metal/paint if you want a better ground. The metal dash frame is grounded to the chassis.

I'd like to get the opinion of anyone who has experience on this. I'm having doubts about the way I installed the oil pressure sensor on the sandwich plate since it wouldn't screw in all the way down compared to the oil temperature sensor, as you can see. It's already very difficult turning the sensor at this point and I didn't want to force it any more because I'm afraid it would break. Would it be fine like this? Both the sensor thread and the sandwich plate are 1/8 PT, and I applied some thread sealant before screwing both sensors in.

Go with the Prosport remote oil pressure sensor kit that has you connect it to the galley plug. I have the Innovate MTX-D dual oil temp/pressure gauge and it fits the relocation kit. Also I had space issues with the oil pressure sensor on the sandwich since I am running a KW S/C kit.

Is that the GReddy sandwich plate? If so, it won't fit unless you have an oil cooler sandwich plate or spacer to go underneath. The sensor and temp probe may also be clocked wrong so they both may not fit.

I agree with the suggestion for the prosport relocation. I'm using it along with the gt86 Blitz sandwich plate. I couldn't get the GReddy to fit

Does the gallery plug read both oil temp and pressure or just pressure?
I've read through the entire post and I am still confused as to which it reads.
Thanks in advance

Strictly pressure.

I got the innovate which reads both temp and pressure, and I'm trying to figure out where to connect the temp sensor.

I say "strictly pressure" in that aux galley port because I've only read about it being used that way.

Personally, I'm looking at sandwich plates as already mentioned in this thread. Not a fan because they seem a bit kludgey but I haven't yet found an alternative.

I removed the stock oil pressure switch and use it for pressure and use the top location for temp. It reads slightly lower than the stock oil temp sensor. My pressure sensor seems to be on the fritz though, need to replace it.

Disregard Ultra's post.

You have 4 location where you can tap for oil temperature. Keep in mind if you have an oil cooler you want the sensor ideally not imediatly after the oil cooler but, closest location where the oil enters the block or your reading will always read cooler than they are. Also not some have stated that the top gallery plug on the block will read slightly hotter (only a couple degrees if any.) This was in comparison to the stock temp readings which are accurate.

1. Factory location, remove and replace with sensor.
2. Top oil gallery plug. Buy an adaptor and screw in. MAP sells a nice one for 1/8th NPT...
3. Tap the oil pan. There are some adaptors for the oil drain bolt but, that is very low IMO.
4. An oil fitler sandwhich/adaptor plate.

If your gauge reads both temp and pressure then I'd personally consider removing the stock oil pressure gauge and installing the innovate gauge there. Then relocate the stock gauge to the top oil gallery plug and

Both are just downstream of the oil filter so that's good. I agree I was a bit hasty in my previous post. I have previously searched unsuccessfully for a drawing or picture of that section of the block under the access plug. Without knowing the dimensions of the cavity underneath, IMHO, nothing should be inserted to protrude beyond the threads of the plug itself. A temp probe does just that and, because I haven't seen anyone insert one there, I <ahem> assumed it shouldn't be. With appreciation, @dwx is the first I've seen to allay my concern. Also, as his aftermarket pressure gauge is on the fritz, he's left with nothing because he used port for the idiot switch. Not knocking it at all. I just like the idea of keeping a backup.

Then where do you put the more important sensor that feeds the ECU? Wasn't that developed around reading temps from that specific location?

Assuming it's ok, where does the aftermarket pressure sender go?

This is interesting.

But the thermistor and the pressure sending unit are 2 different devices?
This leads us right back to the sandwich plate. Did I miss something?
