Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems

Anyone have experience of TPMS in South Africa?

I'm gatvol with pressure gauges at filling stations which are so erratic. Don't they ever calibrate them?

I'm considering getting a TPM system, but I have no idea of what, where, and how much I should pay?
I asked at a local tyre dealer and they occasionally fit them, but don't stock or supply them.

Nitogen - nope.
I see that there are two types - the valve cap style, and larger units incorporating the valve which go inside the tyre.

just get a decent pressure gauge and keep it inside the spare wheel.

those auto systems only breaks and will give you more headaches than checking the pressure yourself!

I always get out of the car and check the oil, water and tire pressure myself. anyone who cares for their car should!
