My assumption and information from a friend is that since Cyl 1 is on the front corner by the Header its getting cooked and over heated.
Change it and wrap it. I can confirm, it will come on again and when it comes on you lose performance power

Came back only at High RPMs, duty cycle is dying but if I keep it below 6000 its fine.
I did take a laser thermometer to each coil pack after a NON spirited drive home.
#1 195 degrees
#2 140 degrees
#3 165 degrees
#4 160 degrees

#1 definitely gets cooked by the header location.

^^ interesting those COP temperature readings, yet for me it was #2 that recently threw a DTC/CEL on track but noticed no loss of power/performance ! To further confuse the issue my 1/2013 car runs E85 OFT/OFH which is TC1 ceramic coated in & out, engine is stock apart from oem oil cooler, track day air ambient temps was 18C/65F, oil & engine temps were normal hot !

How old were the spark plugs when these coilpacks were replaced I wonder? Could it be as simple as a contact issue between a spark plug>coilpack or connection issue on a plug or main engine wire harness connector which needs cleaning & or/contact grease ?

Are people experiencing DTC's with all nannies on or off and is the ECU to blame? Perhaps not as all cylinders would complain. Is it really a result of accumulated repeated beatings and/or excursions to &/or sustained redline use ? Has anyone tried Okada Plasma Direct plugs ?

Garbage Subaru parts ! My old gen7 celicaGTS copped plenty in it's 13 year life, many excursions to the rev limiter = 8500rpm & I never got a DTC :/

Now that is eye-opening. Thank you for the info!

My plugs are at 55k miles a change is coming up at 60k the recommended interval.
My car is a 2012 production year which is prone to this issue. It is the first time it reared its ugly head though.

Just got this CEL P0351 after a long time since I've last seen it. Interestingly my MPG had a huge decrease of ~30 to ~20. It's also time to swap out the spark plugs .. I'm hoping the coil &/or spark plugs crapped out causing the huge loss in mpg (and performance).

The mpg loss could be nothing too terrible, but when I let my coil go too far bad it took a DI with it. Then I started to notice the horrible mpg.

You essentially lose 1/4 of your engine, and it becomes unbalanced. Sounds "normal" under the circumstances.

I hope my injector didn't get killed off due to my laziness ~

I've heard its on the rarer side of things but if you don't have any misfires going into the throttle in the mid range I'd say you're safe. Just change that damn coil lol

I just got P0352 today as well. Everyone else has issues with 1 and 3 but for me it is #2.
First time it ever came up. I was WOT making a light, something I have done many times in the last 5 years of ownership and it came up. Car is running fine though.

Something is amiss here.

I too have Flex tune, 3" OPFP and UEL headers.

As you’ve read the post, you know what to do. Don’t be lazy.

I never bothered updating as to what happened to my car.

I swapped the ignition coil #1 and all 4 spark plugs. Running back to normal MPG
