That's how they are sold in Japan/possibly internationally. They have the option to add several head units or just have that plug/cover. It's found most commonly on the RC version in Japan.

Is there a part number or a way to buy the plug/cover?

It is the audio-less cover that you see on http://toyota.jp/86/interior/audio/

Yahoo Japan Auctions often carries them; here's one: http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f152812723

Here's how to get it mounted: http://skomori.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-23.html

I've been contemplating an eventual stereo delete and what I've looked at is epoxying a sheet of carbon fiber to the inside of the stock radio surround. That or a sheet of lexan and then filling it and painting it (and the passenger side repainted to match).

Old thread I know.

But does anybody know where I can buy that cover? It's a OEM part but I can't find it anywhere.
The links above don't work anymore.
