SCION FR-S antenna, 2" stubby or the shark fin

Hi folks,
Any of you leasing your frs? Anyone usingn5)3 shark fin antennas? If so, how's the reception and how does it look authentic or generic? Post pics!

I'm leasing and have a shark fin. Reception is fine, although I use my iphone most of the time. Can't compare stock to this piece because I replaced it the day I got the car. Looks like it could have come from the factory that way...a little wider than you might see on a 100% OEM unit, but only because it has to surround the stock base. None of the pictures I have show it very well, though...you can kind of see it in my signature picture

I've got the BeatSonic one - it was my first mod and it was on the car a month after I got it. Reception is fine with it, and it looks good on the car.

I went with the ebay special $9 shipped. I haven't been convinced yet on the shark fin...no noticeable change in reception.

I think the stubby takes away from the look of the car --
I think if you want to use it for aesthetics then I'd go with a sharkfin to keep the feel of it.

Though I do like the "corolla" antenna (which is just a little nub), but that's almost impossible to install for me =/

I got the 2" Jr. Stubby off amazon, I like it. At first I really wanted the shark fin but... For 100+ dollars the money can really go some place else. No problems with signal... But I rarely use it mostly Bluetooth my phone... Also everyone and their momma's momma has sharkfin... It's nice to be different

I feel exactly the opposite. I don't like the shark fin at all. The Beatsonic one doesn't look like it belongs on the car, and the new OEM ones are only slightly better.

I have the Perrin 2" antenna, and you hardly notice it's there. It looks a lot better than I was expecting, and so far it works just as well as stock.

I really wish we could have a smooth roof with a hidden antenna.

I just kept my RC car antenna. Don't they come with shark fins now from the factory?

If you really wanted to be cool and original you could get the beatsonic blade.

Being original on this car will be keeping it OEM, especially in a few years.

I had the Beat-Sonic Blaid before I put the Perrin shorty on mine. I would recommend against it for quality reasons. After several months on mine, the paint no longer matched the shade of the car. It also developed some little bubble spots in the finish. When I took it off, I noticed it had a curve toward the passenger side. I'm not sure if that was there when I installed it or if it warped in the sun over time. Either way, I wouldn't buy any BS products at this point (no shark fin, no electronics, no nothing) for fear they would have the same low quality.

As for looks, I had a love/hate relationship with it. Sometimes I thought it looked good. Other times I thought it looked ricey and stupid. I couldn't decide whether I liked it or not. Finally the shit quality made the decision for me.

Reception-wise, I have not seen any noticeable difference. It's all for cosmetic look. I've checked out a FRS with a perrin and a new 2015 FRS w/ sharkfin. No difference in sound.

I prefer shark fin because no matter what, it offers for a 'cleaner' look. Also, for me I cover my car everyday with a 'car cover,' so having to install and uninstall the stock antenna can become annoying.

p.s. I have stock because I like the oem one, personally...but...I wish it would have come with sharkfin.
