It wouldn't take 1500 to get up to 205. A $170 Tactrix cable and E85 tune should be good for that if not more.

That's an easy answer... no. I doubt you would even notice 10HP unless it's a track thing. Definitely not in daily driving.

Do you have a link or reference that shows the power difference with red manifold? I have been thinking about doing that but haven't been able to justify yet.

5hp is within the margin of error on a dyno. You probably wouldn't find it worth buying an air intake with advertised 5hp gain. Yet you want a whole engine for that. A good header and tune would net actually around 30-40 whp depending on dyno.

Unsure if this has been mentioned.
latest information comes from Subaru, which kindly shared its manual transmission take-rate numbers for 2018. One of the most interesting tidbits was that 78% of Subaru BRZs sold had a manual. What makes that so curious is its stark contrast to its twin, the Toyota 86, where only 33% of those sold in 2018 had a manual. Long live the MT but i cant say I wouldn't mind having a go with the paddles. |

The numbers weren’t always that bad on the Toyota. I’m not buying that all the MT drivers dried up in a few years but only for Toyota. I think it has more to do with them never having MT on the lots. |

oh, i totally forgot that having a penis entitles me to such things! yay me!
gender has as much to do with transmission selection as any specific persons voting preference.

Yep, pretty much what I was saying about the C7. There are very few 86s that were customer ordered. Almost all of them were spec cars. It was the manufacturer, based on their previous sales, that decided what they wanted to have on the lot. If someone didn't buy a Toyota/Scion version because it was an auto, the dealer just sold it to someone that was OK with it, and they still sold every one they made, at a higher price.

Most MT drivers are accustomed to dealing with consumables. I’ve got 104k miles on my clutch which is more than I’ve gotten out of previous cars but the TOB issue really sucks. I replaced mine at 74k if I recall. I did it myself so it only cost me $20 to fix but it kind of sucks if you can’t do it yourself and have to pay $1000 in labor to replace it. Assuming the redesigned TOB actually lasts then this car will come out much cheaper in consumables then any of my past cars. |
