Suspension issue (Camber)

Hi guys im hoping some of you might have knowledge on this or have had this issue and resolved it. So i installed godspeed mono max coilovers on my brz, these come with camber plates. I have no other suspension components on my car. But im having a issue with my passenger side wheel not cambering as much as my driver side. With the camber maxed out on both plates they do not match. I tried looking around the coilover to see if there are any differences and he only thing i could find is that the sway bar end link Dont match. by that i mean that the passenger side is upside down compared to the driver side. But with the endlinks being the same length i do not see how this could be a issue. Please any info would be greatly appreciated.

Pictures have been uploaded. Top 2 are the driver side which is fine and bottom 2 are the passenger side which is not. Both camber plates are in the exact same spot. In this photo the camber plates are not maxxed out as i took these before i adjusted them.

Is the top hole on the strut (at the knuckle) slotted or are you running camber bolts? If you look at the two pictures of the knuckles it's pretty clear that the bolt on the top is closer to the edge of the strut lower mount.

Hmm i am not running camber bolts and im not sure if they are slotted. Im not sure if im seeing what your seeing.

Ahh i see what you mean now. Do you think that little bit of room is whats making the other wheel not match camber wise?

Yes, that's 100% why the camber isn't the same left to right.


Loosen both bolts off, and find someone to push the knuckle in at the top (and out at the bottom) to even out the camber at the knuckle before tightening them down again.

Im going to do that today! thanks! Cant tell you how long iv been trying to figure out why my camber was off. Ill update yall later tonight.

Imho also it's wrong to use camberbolts in slotted strut holes. Very easy to slip from hits to suspension. Better use full thickness/strength bolts in slotted holes and use camberbolts only in round ones. After all, lot of camber can be dialed in via camber plates you now have.

Depends on how you're doing it.


I've got lobed SPC bolts in the bottom holes and the stock bottom bolts in the upper holes (KW v3's, slotted from the factory). Set it up by maxing out the camber in the top hole, then dialed back with the lower bolt. With the weight on the wheels, it'll always want to push the top bolts in for more camber, so the only way it's going to slip is towards more negative (assuming you haven't hit something like a curb). I've got about over 1000km's with my setup, including lots of rough roads and a track day, and no slipping.


If you're using camber bolts in a slotted upper hole to lessen camber, it'll totally slip.

So after fixing the bolt issue everything is resolved and now have matching camber!

Devin11948: btw, evening camber just by looks is not exactly job done, not exactly proper alignment. Especially because camber and toe affects each other on this type of suspension. I advise to take car to normal suspension shop and let them dial in precise alignment on the alignment rig. One CAN DIY align oneself using eg. strings method, but it takes LOT of time and is PITA, so better have shop do it while having coffee
