STX Gurus lend me your eyes...
So I bought a modified car earlier this year. Some of the mods put me straight into CSP which has been my playground with no local competition. My e30 was in DSP before that with the same issue, and it's frustrating. I don't want to go to full street prepared prep, so I'd like to drop a few little mods to fit into the STX sandbox. Possibly give a go at nationals next year if I'm feeling frisky. Before going crazy it seems like I should get some fresh eyes on this.
Here's the mods I should be able to keep: Whiteline Anti-Dive Caster kit Raceseng Cascam Plates Grimmspeed strut brace Whiteline Adjustable end links Eibach Anti-roll kit KW V3 coilovers SPC adjustable LCAs Falken rt615k+ (for now) Sparco Champion wheel NRG Gen 2 quick release NRG short hub Forever Sharp horn button Goodridge stainless lines EBC Yellowstuff pads DBA T3 rotors all around Motul RBF600 brake fluid Motul 300 Gear oil trans/diff fluid OFT v1 Beastronix Speed Academy pedal dance box Wheel studs Iffy class stuff: Grimmspeed master cylinder brace From what I can tell the following put me out of class: e85 tune Hooker Blackheart catless front pipe + catless Tsudo UEL header/overpipe Whiteline Roll Center / Bump Steer Kit (Ball Joints, Tie Rod Ends) Whiteline Adjustable Toe Arms Enkei NT03+M Wheels 18x9.5 +40MM (Black) Velox Throttle Pedal Spacer Kit Downforce Carbon Fiber Front Lip Carsmo Design Rear Duckbill Trunk Spoiler Perrin Steering Rack Lock + Whiteline Steering Rack & Pinion Mounts Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated! |

throttle pedal spacer kit should be allowed. it is a driver interface mod or "comfort and convenience" Hell I run a steering wheel spacer too
but yes the e85 tune and everything else would be non STX legal. The master cylinder thing: " t was approved in August Fasttrack. #22139 Master cylinder brace allowance in ST The STAC and SEB recommend the following allowance for a bolt-on brake/clutch master cylinder brace mirroring the allowance present in the SP category. This is as a new line in section 14.6, as follows: “G. A single brake master cylinder brace may be added provided it is bolt-on and serves no other purpose.”" |

For locals I think you've nailed it plus the above about the cylinder brace.
nitpicky nationals level problems: SPC LCA's have a spherical bearing that's not legal, you can press in a replacement bushing (Diftech makes one) or swap to a different LCA Sparco steering wheel should be weighted to match OE steering wheel weight (or just swapped back to OE) If you're winning, it's not because your steering wheel is 5 lbs lighter or your rear lca can pivot a direction it never needs to pivot so I wouldn't rush to fix these unless you're headed to Nationals with the car. |

You're right. My bad. I used Ctrl+F and it moved me back up to street and I didn't realize.

I'll look out for a different LCA or just swap bushings if things get serious. As for the steering wheel, I think it's pretty close in weight when I factor in a heavy metal cruise control bracket, horn button, quick release stuff, and hub. One of these days I'll weigh it all to compare, but don't think it would require much effort to get them close enough. |

Only thing I was going to ask you is did you check the weight on the steering wheel. Most aftermarket ones need ballast to be legal.

I'll have to see what I can find for ballast. I know locally I'm good, but for Mid-Div and Nationals I know it's going to be something to look into. |

Last night I noticed the spoiler adhesive was already starting to pull away on the bottom side of the trunk lid. Next thing you know I've spent 15 minutes pulling and prying to get the thing free from the trunk lid. Once it was free my gut got a bit squirmy. This thing has been here a while. After some hasty cleanup, the paint doesn't match the rest of the trunk now, and there's enough blemishes/scratches that a re-spray would be the only option. I'm not a painter.
I panicked a bit. A lot really. Some cleaning and scraping took the old adhesive stuff off. My fingers are now heavily blistered. What a genius idea this has been. I stared at it for a few minutes minus the spoiler, and then proceeded to stick it back in place with new 3m trim tape. Not a fan of the looks, but mainly because it's going to cost some money to get the trunk lid back to purty status. Maybe STX is for the birds? I'll start looking for a whiteout trunk to swap or buy before too long. Not the outcome I was hoping for, but at least I know now.
