Totally understandable. I'd probably end up being cheap and not purchasing more gaskets, but I might if it needed to be a clean install again.

Either way, wishing you luck.

On an FI car with an Intercooler there's not many other places to put a properly sized oil cooler. You could easily route air from the front grill opening to this cooler with some simple ducting.

Update on my last attempt to stop this leak. Use permantex copper ultra high temp gasket making silicone, leaked! It had no way out and it leaked through the rear bolt. This is unbelievable. At this point I'm just waiting to send it to precision, hoping for a replacement because this thing is possessed.

Front side, clear.

Rear side, notice the drip on the head of the bolt, maybe hard to see but i confirmed with my finger, fresh oil. This was minutes after shutting down the car.

I assume that's as recessed as it can be? Ducting would be easy enough.

I forgot to ask if it still requires deleting the fogs. Is that still true?

Man, I don't wanna even know the emotional rollercoaster you've been on with this leak.

Hand it off to Precision. They'll get it sorted out.

Thats my only option at this point, its a horrible feeling thinking you've got it fixed and next morning or even minutes after, there it is. I've jacked up my car so many times my jacking points are crushed. I really wish no one has to deal with this. Thanks

I'm sorry but I have to laugh. I tried all of this same stuff with my pte6262 so it's funny to see someone do the exact thing. I even tried torquing it all then filling the remaining bolt hole with jb weld. Didn't help. Nothing did.

*snipping very helpful post*

Wrapping the charge pipes is not at all required, and the car will run just fine without it. The difference when really getting aggressive with the car is minimal on that one piece but when people are trying to perfect everything every little bit adds up.
I measured before and after in my WRX. Granted my cold side piping was a lot longer and went in front of the radiator but I saw a 10*F drop by wrapping the pipe. That was done over a couple trips along the same way to work on very similar temp days.

Lol it's cool at this point I could only laugh myself or I'll lose my head. I won't continue as anything else will likely cause more issues than a solution. I'll wait on JDL to get my RMA number to ship off to precision. So what you end up doing, garret?

Yep. The GTX 2767 or something like that. Should be running by the weekend.

GTX2867R ordered today! That'll be replacing my pte4854b.

As for the oil cooler, as you can see in my previous post w the pic of my engine bay, I have a Perrin oil cooler. Where is it mounted? Well, when I got my kit, I got the JDL crash bar which replaces the Oem crash beam. At that time, I don't think there was a solution for oil cooler mounting so @nelsmar and I mmmm "fabbed" a mount and I use the word "fabbed" loosely lol. You guys can ask him about that. As of right now, it is mounted on the crash beam above the front mount interposed. Seems to be doing it's job well with it's current location. I wonder if putting the cooler behind the fogs will still work with keeping things cool. Someone wanna try it and do some logs?!👍
