HKS FLASH EDITOR e85 tune

Hello everyone,

I currently have my car tuned to 91, I’ve been wanting to run e85. I ran my car completely dry before putting in my e85. Once I put e85 I drove my car about 16 miles still on 91 tune just to make sure that 91 was out of my lines. I tried applying the e85 tune but once complete the car didn’t want to start and if it did it’ll die out instead of idle. I reflashed back to 91 and it starts up no problem. What do you guys think it can be?

Thank you!

Sounds like something incorrect in e85 tune.

Is weather fairly warm ? Supprised it fires up on 91 tune easily with e85 in tank as you need lot more fuel to get e85 started.

It might struggle to fire up once engine cold on 91 tune with e85 in tank.

Also check it was actually e85 you put in tank any chance it was petrol ?

Are you boosted and have different injectors and map sensor than stock ? Is the e85 tune set up for same injectprs and map sensor as 91 tune

HKS SC/ stock injectors and fuel pump

I was reading up on shivs post about running e85 without having to upgrade fuel pump and injectors so I hooked up my editor to try and run their e85 tune and that was a no go. With the 91 tune it runs fine but as far as numbers I believe of course it may be running rich. Until I get my oft in a few days could I cause great harm to my engine? I’ve been shifting under 3k rpm. Driving like a granny. No wot.

Yes if you drive easy blow 3500 you will be fine.

Does jks flash editior measure long term fuel trims ? LTFT

If so if you have e85 in tank on a 91 tune you should be seeing about +25% or so ltft

With e85 you need to inject about 25-30% more fuel volime than petrol to achieve the correct air fuel ratio. Due to the diffrrent fuel composition.

This is what the E85 tune should do, you also need to inject that ectra fuel during startup with e85 or it wont Start, again this should be done in ghe e85 tune

The LTFT was at 21% at 2438 RPM 36MPH with 18% throttle.

IIRC the E85 tune from HKS requires upgraded injectors. I can check my files from HKS for calibration in a bit to verify.

EDIT: Sorry this is for their supercharger tune. Not an NA tune. Are you supercharged or NA?
