Rear ones in today. No trouble at all, but even with the wheels off, my drill won't fit straight on. Had to angle a pilot hole, then push bit in by hand until I could fit drill in to smooth it out, then graduate up to 5/16 bit (same thing--punch bit in by hand, then fit drill in to smooth it out).

These look pretty rad! I'll probably be picking some of these up next week.

Maybe this has been addressed on this thread already but how are you supposed to deal with the large paint chips or peeled chunks of paint that occur underneath the plastic mud guards.

I removed one of my front mud guards because it became slightly loose. Major damage to the paint underneath.

I think the slightly loose mudguard may have contributed to your paint damage. To prevent anything like that, I washed and waxed the paint surfaces that would be touched with the mudflaps thoroughly before installation, and made sure everything was tight. I drilled the holes as instructed to prevent any unnecessary movement; I think this is a step many skipped out of convenience and hesitancy to drill into their cars.

It looks like I am missing a large pushpin or it was lost somewhere. Does anybody know if I can just order the bag K2200 from Toyota and not buy the entire mud guard kit?

Many auto parts stores have racks of generic push pins.

Stock Mud Guard Install DIY (BRZ & FR-S)

When installing mine I messed up the push pins in 2 out of 4 mudguards.

Made me feel like a total amateur. I need to pick up a few new push pins.......only like 2.

Good to know.

Also I didn't do any drilling on any of the wheel wells. The rears were so secure with the clips that I skipped it. In retrospect I should have drilled the fronts on......

Those screw in pins are such shit. Just buy push pins for them all.

I totally agree. I couldn't believe how poorly the screw in type worked. I couldn't get them to fit right either. It caused me to have to drive some of them in with a hammer. I have never performed any body trim or wheel well work before. Was clueless.

The front wheels' mud guards can be put on without removing the wheel; just turn the steering wheel hard left for the left wheel well and hard right for the right wheel well. There is even adequate clearance to drill the third hole.

The rear wheels, not so much. I took the wheels off and was glad I did. I don't think it's possible to drill the third hole without doing that.
