The car was built to slide. Aside from reducing the tread life of your tyres and the interval times between alignments you're not asking the car to do anything more than it was designed to do.

Whats so wrong about letting the rear end out on a turn to a large open road with no cars?

I have no problem with that. Just the cops won't buy that argument for some reason

Great! Haha i'm glad many of ya share the same enthusiasm for powersliding!

I've been wondering, on my previous honda civic, I understeered on a slippery road and went off road down a muddy hill, not to steep. After I got the car towed out because driving it back up the hill was impossible and it was stuck, the car needed immediate alignment. The car couldn't be driven higher than 40mph before it started shaking.

Will this happen to the frs after constant powerslding?

There is help out there for you.

Just look for PSA meetings in the yellow pages.

Most likely you won't stop doing it until you reach low bottom (that is when you slide into a curb and mess up your cars lower control arm, steering rack, front strut, front and back wheel bearings, wheel rim and alignment.

Ol humfrz knows, he has been there ...... since my last "mishap", I have been a clean driver for 6 years now, but, mrs humfrz still won't let me drive her car .....

Do you think this will work with an officer or in court?

"Oh officer, the car just lost control after that turn and the rear end just started slipping, don't know what happened. I did not do that intentionally. The tires are pretty old on this car as well. Oh and that huge smile on my face was from the accident I was able to avoid from quick thinking."

It got messed up from going off the road, not the understeering.

Gotcha!
But doesn't powersliding cause stress on the cars alignment, because the wheels are trying to go straight but is being forcefully moved sideways while the wheels are still spinning?

Cars do not lose control. Drivers lose control. Cars crash when they take control over from the driver.

Oh and cops are not stupid. You would be better off says "I am sorry officer I know it was foolish and won't do it again".

Those guys are very hard to impress. My experience. But feel free to try. Lemme know though if you can make it work. I'll be watching
