So we did some track testing this weekend and had a great time hanging out with Paul and Bob at the 86 fest. One thing I would suggest is when installing the kit you upgrade the manifold gaskets and wrap to help with the heat. We just ordered the 2010 Subaru turbo Legacy gaskets as suggested by Paul. Even running at 5 psi we managed to set times faster then other FI kits that ran in the same class. it was a great test and we have a lot more left in the car.

My car is hanging out with @Pure Automotive until the turbo is on. Look for updates within the week! I'll put together a build thread when I have time, work is generally really busy during the week.

I agree on the gaskets. That is the gaskets I installed this last time and you can clearly see a difference between them and BRZ gaskets.

Same here...I had major leaks on passside with the stock gaskets. Upgraded the gaskets to oem sti gaskets, perfection.

The other thing i would strongly recommend is purchase new t-bar style clamps. The worm drive clamps just didnt feel solid for me and had a few leaks. I upgraded all mine and its much more solid. No leaks after clamp upgrades and leak testing. Turbo inlet was leaking like crazy, see my build thread for specifics.

Do any of you have the part number of the OEM STi or Legacy gaskets?

My kit arrived last night, at least according to the tracking page. I am currently out of the country. The anticipation is killing me. I fly back home tomorrow. It is going to be a long flight.

Just went through all the fittings/hardware on the Turbo/manifold assembly. Some parts were barely snug. Definitely check everything, would have had a ton of issues if it was just thrown in the car that way. In others news, flanges are perfectly flat and true. Loaded the base map into my car to make sure there were no issues and all is good. Install sat morning.

Check all the bolts on anything not put together by your self is a must in my book. I like the double check things and when you are running multi hour endro races it helps cut the edge

Ok, Not my "build thread", but a big thank you to my tuner.

I was busy all week, told my 18 year old daughter (drives an E30 very well) that she could drive my newly-AVO-turbo'd BRZ up SR542 East up To Artist Point today. She looked forward to the event all week, as I did.
I let her drive the car from Edmonds to the Point and back (roughly 220 miles). She had the time of her life, never needing any coaching to shift (it's a manual) or upsetting the car in any way. She is a natural at driving.
The car (modified and tuned at Drift Office last week) performed flawlessly throughout the day. As a passenger in my own car I was amazed at how gracefully a teenager could manipulate this car through steep, sharp hairpin turns and high speed undulations with little wiggle room for error. (NO - Dad didn't turn off the traction control!) I intend to take her auto crossing, where she will no-doubt outperform me.
On the way home, our first phone call of the day came to us via Bluetooth. It was Bob. What a suprise! He was only checking on the car, but it felt as if he was checking on us! He had no idea that I had not had the opportunity to drive the car all week, no idea that I was in the car and that this was, without a doubt, my finest day in one of my cars ever!
What service! What timing!
A HUGEThank you to Bob

Bob owns Drift Office, a high performance tuning shop in Auburn, Washington and perhaps the finest FA20 motor tuning shop on the west coast.
