You're probably wise to break the fuel up into manageable portions too. That thing full is over 90 pounds.

Sorry to quote this from a while back, but I've read that street E85 can vary in ethanol content to as low as 68% and also vary seasonally. Do we need to be careful about that or just trust that the ECU will compensate for a crappy fuel load?

Also, I didn't read this anywhere, but if knock actually does occur, is there a way to flash the CEL or shift light to alert the driver before we actually start to hear it?

HA, you got me on that one. What can I say? I've always been a car guy, even when I was a kid playing with legos and eventually gas-powered rc cars. Now that I have a decent salary, my FRS is what keeps me happy. I love the car and I've made it my own. Everything that I've bought for the car was below retail (group buys, member classifieds, random good deals).

Same here exactly the only thing i paid retail for was the air filter on ebay and the dynosty sound tube delete. I got wholesale or group buy on everything else and this car is worth every penny i put in to it. I have traded cars almost on a yearly basis in the past but i don't see this one going anywhere.

@Visconti - as soon as you can get me a map with map switching enabled, you've got $350 from me for the E85 upgrade! :happy0180::happy0180:

You will need to be careful about how you store it as well -- E85 will absorb moisture from the air and reacts differently to various container materials than gasoline.

not exactly. I was planning on driving to cville to get some, and bring back enough for a refill, in the mean time i could check out what it takes to get in the place on jeff davis. but with map switching being as easy as it looks, it's worth the money to have the option to go to the e85 map when i happen to stumble upon it.

Ok so im on the Perrin map(Thanks @PERRIN_Jeff) as of today. John is sending me his map, (thanks @Visconti)so mid week I will switch over, and do my 200 mile trip to and from phx with four planned restarts and see what happens, the route allows one to WOT most of the way back up and ranges from 4400 feet to 1000 feet. Will try out the e85 next. once I get these down, I'll be up for some dyno time..then off to Flagstaff to try out 7000-8000 feet under load.

I'm in the same boat. Get the map switching out the door and I'm good for the E85 map. Makes so much sense for track days!

Wanted to bump this and,

As soon as map switching is available I will be goo g with the flex fuel map because I only have 1 station within 50 miles with e85 so can't rely on it

Hey John, my car is finally broken in and I am installing windows on my mac as I type this. I will update the software for the ECUTek software as per the instructions in this thread and then I will be ready for the tune! What process do we need to follow for this? Is there still a form that needs to be filled out?

EDIT: FOUND IT! I found the form and I filled it out and sent it to ya!
Update: Installed software and fully updated as per your instructions. Only thing left is to receive the license/flash and run it I await your instructions, whenever they may come.

Yes thanks, I've been hard at work - and so has EcuTek.

Last night / this morning we had some new developments @ EcuTek for the BRZ - New stuff is always fun!
