Do you have a link to the car mount you are using?

I am trying to find one that will sit on top of center dashboard (above nav unit) without being too tall.

our dashboard is too textured and has curve, so it's hard to place a suction cup on it.

BlackVue has the 550 coming out with dual front/back channels and apparently uses the Sony Exmor.

I've had no issues with my 500 - it warms up but doesn't get hot like the older version. I thought I had a problem when it wouldn't come on but it turns out I had blown the fuse in the power cord that plugs into my power minder (keeps power on until battery drops below a threshold).

There's a custom firmware floating around out there that raises the recording bitrate to 12K instead of the stock 7K which makes for better quality videos. I haven't played around with it yet though.

Truck driver angry that I merged right after passing with safe distances... He merged simultaneously behind me, tailgating. He got angry, maybe assuming I tried to cut him off?

Quick Update, after contacting the FHP website I did receive an email from the regional officer requesting a copy of the original file which I have since provided to them. I like to think this helps someone.

A couple of thoughts here. First, whenever dealing with a person like that, the best revenge is to smile and wave like they are a long lost friend who you haven't seen in a long time. This really pisses them off as they get no satisfaction from their aggression. Second, if you have the tag number, why not submit it to the Highway Patrol? What you are witnessing there is road rage and a vehicle like that can be very dangerous. Especially if the driver were to lose control. Thanks for sharing.

I was going to report him to his trucking company, but researching the company they only have two trucks and two drivers - I'm guessing he was was of the proprietors, and nothing would happen. And I'm not quite sure what the police would do about this - I don't think dealing with dashcam videos of road rage is high on their priority list.
