Congrats and it does look alot better without the stripe. I do think Solar Orange is a nice color but I couldn't own that color, its to much on the pink side for me. I looked at one again this weekend and yup I still couldn't get one for myself.

The seats are made of leather and alcantara which is that suede-like material that Toyota likes to use.

The Special Edition has heated leather seats with contrast stitching throughout the interior, a leather parking brake, a spoiler, black heated mirrors, dual-zone climate control, fog lamps, smart key with push-button start, "super black high-lustre" wheels, an anti-theft system, and an LCD display beside the tachometer which shows vehicle performance data.

Also, in Canada the Special Edition is only available with a manual transmission.

I know what you mean with the pink color, the solar orange can look very different depending on the lighting. I've taken some photos inside the dealership with fluorescent lights shining on it and you can definitely see a pink-ish hue, but in other photos it almost looks bright red. The paint has a really nice metallic flake in it though, and it looks incredible driving down the road in the sun.

Congrats on the awesome car. I seriously considered the 860 myself here in the States, but finally decided against it. Pros: the best interior of any of the twins so far. Love the orange stitching and leather/swede/granlux material. I love the wheels too. The pp wheels just don't work for me, and the flat color is better than the two toned stock. The black spoiler and fog lights on the exterior really work too. Cons: the price. Base model can be had for a steal right now. 860, not so much. Solar/supernova orange is just a bit too much flash for me. I really loved the pictures, but found in person that I wasn't sure I could live with it for the next 15 years (I keep my cars for a long time). I really wanted to love it, but after some sleep I decided to go base and stick with retro dials and save a buck. But for those that the color speaks to, it is a great car.

Yeah. Just look at your pics, the first two you can really see the pink shading, then the third just looks like a bright orange. Both times I looked at the solar orange 860 was outside on a beautiful sunny day so I got the color effect. I really do think the color is very nice and, like you said, the flake in it really makes it pop even more. It's just the pink hue makes it something that I couldn't live with daily. That is just me and no way am I saying you made the wrong choice.

It is a truly spectacular colour. The one in Stratford was parked beside a Lava and the Lava looked dim in comparison even in the bright sun.

Glad they didn't put the stripes on it. Stock wheels look good with that coating. I painted mine was the first mod I did.

I recorded a quick video over the weekend of how the car sounds with the TRD exhaust. It actually sounds a whole lot better than what I originally expected from TRD. I'm really happy that I went with this instead of another after market system. The audio was recorded with a high quality cardioid microphone.

Sounds good! I loved the TRD exhaust on my FRS as well.

Oooo I want that orange stitching so bad. I love it and it would look so badass with the Lava too.

"Alcantara" is just a fancy word for "microsuede" or "microfiber". My Monogram has it. At least I don't stick to it when I wear shorts in the summer, so there's that!

I feel the same way. I would be pissed if it were my car. I don't see how a company can be okay with selling a more expensive special edition of a car that they don't even finish.

I expected better from you toyota
