What's the benefit of the strap? Even if you pull it closed don't you still need to yank your hand out of the way quickly so it doesn't get jammed by the door?

At the same time making sure the strap doesn't get caught between the trunk and lid. Isn't it easier to just close your trunk by pushing down on/slamming the lid?

It's really not that hard... but like any 'mod' you can take it or leave it.

I understand and agree with that logic, but I don't understand the benefit that the strap gives, it seems like it will make the trunk more annoying to close using the strap than by just closing it like a normal trunk.

Is this more of an aesthetic than functional mod?

Great idea. You installed it and say it works - good enough for me. I'm thinking of rigging something with a leather guitar headstock strap. If others get their fingers chopped off trying to shut the trunk there will still be less fingerprints!

It functionally keeps my aesthetics nice. It allows me to close the trunk without having to grab the spoiler or paint.

Today I scored this brand-new-in-the-box $1100 Corsa exhaust (with black tips) for $636 shipped.

Actually I scored it last weekend. The box arrived today. It's like Christmas in April.

Thanks. The guy listed it on Ebay by the model number, but nowhere in the listing did he indicate what car it was for. I have been searching periodically for that number and was probably the only twin driver who found it. I clicked the "Best Offer" button and made what I thought was a ridiculously low offer of $600, but he came back with a $636 counteroffer to cover his shipping cost. I dropped what I was doing and accepted.

It'll be a few weeks before I have a chance to install it, damn it.
