Mr. Tsuchiya recently tested out the new Miata's comparing them to the 86.
Someone asked him, "So, which one tsuchiya san? which one is better?" He answered, "GT 86(^-^)"

...and there are legions of others who would disagree with him, like Randy Pobst. It really comes down to a matter of personal taste.

Actually even Randy pobst liked the BrZ handling better , but ultimately he gave it to Miata in Motortrends head2head because it was faster and din have that power dip. His opinion might change with the 2017s

In this day and age, instead of using an offensive word such as retarded, it might be better to use Asperger's Syndrome. Or I will call it incorrectly, Late Onset Developmental Asperger's Syndrome. There are possible synonyms for it in an alternative thesaurus. At first, confusion, then dumb, then annoying, sad, now I'd say creepy. |

Nah just doesn't flow. Just used your post as an example I don't really think it was Asperger Syndromed.

This exactly. Hopefully he gets an opportunity to run the new BRZ with all the bells and whistles.

I would point out, Keiichi san does have certain business obligations that might also bias his reply.

Max Prince of Road and Track just recently reviewed the 2017 BRZ Limited. Basically it has new shocks and Brembo brakes. Probably a little livelier than a 2016 and on the final lap might make up a foot or two on heavy braking. |

ALL reviewers have something that will bias their reply. They may not even know what it is but it is there.

also Keiichi san was comparing the 1.5l mx5, he might have a different opinion if japan got the 2l version, if you could eliminate the body roll in the 2l mx5 nd with sways bars or lower springs/coil overs etc and not compromise the ride quality too much its hard to argue that the gt86 is the better SPORTS car as the mx5 is lighter, smaller and faster, the gt86 just has a better suspension setup in my opinion its damn near perfect. Also note this is ignoring the added practicality of the gt86 rear seats, bigger boot etc. Although one other note I actually like that the gt86 has a fair bit of torque between 0 to 3.5k rpm before the dip whereas the mx5 is builds torque more linearly which many seem to prefer, but then u add that the mx5 is much lighter although id get the mx5 rf version and that would only be about 100kg or so lighter? So all in all they are pretty similar performance wise.
