I'm not hating on Evasive Motorsports, just posting this up to show how ridiculously setup the Griffon is when Evasive's Pike's Peak car is almost a second slower at Tsukuba... with around twice the horsepower and torque. That's the genius behind the griffon concept... lightweight + suspension magic + aero magic.

The TRD is likely the more expensive car and it had a better driver much more experienced with the track. Also the car was basically designed for that track. Double the power doesn't do much there. Either way, that car has almost nothing to do with this street car.

the time attack drivers here could probably drive tsukuba blind folded. that track is the go to track for car shake downs and what not. they spend an insane amount of time there. sub 1 minute for first time on that track is pretty damn impressive.

I don't think the 'street car' would exist without the Griffon... the Griffon is the reason the car was made in the first place. More power would be useful for the rear and main straight and would help in reducing the time by at least half a second to one second... won't do much of anything in the corners though.

My point was you can see the Griffon is a VERY dialed in car for the track. It was Evasive's first time on the track and they set a great lap time with a very competent driver. They will only be faster with more time on track, but put the videos of the Evasive car and the Griffon side by side and the differences are readily apparent on the characteristics of each car. Shows how TRD resources can better an 86 for track duty while keeping it near stock power levels, and those resources have trickled down to the 14R60...

Likewise they have an Avensis in Touring Cars in the UK and a Prius in GT300 in Japan.

But, they are racing cars.

The Griffon is a test mule, a R&D vehicle, not a race car. What they have learned from that has been utilised in a 'Club racer' - the 14R60 and the milder street version.

This has been explained to you time and time again, if you don't get it now you never will.

by explaining, you mean voicing an opinion. opinions can be different. what exactly did get utilized from the "test mule"? brakes? no. springs? no. shocks? no. tires? no. i guess a 25k body kit is cool but i still dont see how this car has any relation to the other griffons lap times.

you seem to be confused. the griffon test mule or whatever you want to call it may not be a race car but that doesnt mean a race car cant serve the same purpose as a test mule.
