I am quite impressed with just how much space they seemed to pack into such a small car. I'm pretty sure after crunching the numbers I could easily fit a large suit case, medium suitcase, set of golf clubs and a 3 ball bowling bag. I will see for certain in a couple of weeks.

So I got my set of clubs in the trunk without folding the seat down. I have to take the driver out and put it in separately, but no big deal.

Yeah, but the REAL question is... how many bodies!

13" high at the centre of the passthrough and 15" high at the centre of the trunk opening.

If you can fold a body to the size of a tire, then about 4 bodies.

uhm. how do you open the trunk???????? i went to the dealership and not even the salesman guy could open it. I know there is a button behind the steeringwheel on the left but we were pushing it... hold it down. Trunk did not open. Even started the car but nothing.
The dealership guy was quiet the whole time. He looked like he was horrified about us checking a car. Felt like I was in a ferrari salon in dirty ghetto cloths or something. What the hell??? I could tell the guy wants as to go. Even that we drove there with two scions. one being an RS7!... whatever.

You dont have a button on the key to open it?

Also, isnt there a lever on the inside of the trunk that restricts opening from anything but the key (or switch)...seem to remember it being mentioned on here somewhere.

This thread seals the deal! I was thinking about a Miata (My wife prefers it, and they drive very similarly for day to day use) but the trunk on the Miata was way too small. This reinforces how much more space there is in the BRZ/FR-S!

I had this problem when I picked up my car! (see the 86 stupid things you did with your FR-S thread). More than likely the valet button in the trunk is pushed. You can open the trunk with the regular key. You can't see the lock looking at the trunk. It's hidden underneath the trunk "handle". Look underneath just to the right of the Scion badge on the trunk.

We've established that things like suitcases and golfbags do indeed fit. My question, was, of course, can you fit a Short, Magazine Lee-Enfield back there?

I'm happy to report that you can. Plenty of room, in fact. You'd probably be good to go with even something longer like a Mosin-Nagant.

I put 4 wheels and tires in there. They were 245s on 17" rims (from a Celica). Only about 1 1/2 fit in the trunk - the others were more on the folded down back seat, with the pass side seat pushed forward a bit.
