Do any owners of this kit NOT have to add oil routinely? It seems strange that Sprintex specs a 20K oil change and yet people are finding their chargers empty after 5K.

It really shouldn't Its not that big of a deal honestly. Its good practice anyways to keep an eye on the level of the oil. I do it usually every other oil change.
Decided that i'm going to be selling my kit for anyone that is interested. |

Has anyone tested to see if it's a pressure issue? Maybe the oil is frothing and causing positive pressure which is forcing it past the seals? Perhaps installing a small breather valve in the SC fill hole might relieve that pressure and prevent any leaks? An easy way to test would be to install a barbed fitting in the fill hole and run a hose to a boost/vac gauge to see what happens under spirited driving. |

I guess you have never owned a Subaru motor before which are known for burning oil I understand the concern but there has been 0 issues (that I've seen at least) with this. There was one fellow who had it leaking from the pulley in the front of the charger but that's the only case I know of.

I do remember somewhere back in the thread someone had pics of oil all over the IC core. That led me to believe possible screw seal leaks. Dying for one of these kits though. |

I've got something I want to throw out to the group to get some opinions, educated or otherwise.
When I first installed my kit, I was getting CELs and sometimes limp mode, but it felt like a goddamn rocket ship (E85 w/ 70mm pulley). As it turns out, the codes were for too lean, and I went back to check all vacuum connections etc. until I discovered that the intake was barely holding on to the throttle body. The hose clamps I used on the heater hose stopped the bottom of the intake from getting on all the way, and I'm pretty sure it was sucking in a good deal of unmetered air through that gap, explaining why my fuel trims were wacky and throwing lean codes. Well, since I've gotten that fixed, the car doesn't feel as fast anymore . I theorized that it had learned to dump tons of fuel in to fix the lean condition and was probably running pretty rich, so I removed the negative cable overnight to reset the ECU. It feels better, but not as good as it did at first. My questions: 1) Have I maybe just become accustomed to the power already? 2) Did that extra air and fuel just create more power at probably the expense of engine longevity? 3) Does this kit benefit from freeing up the intake beyond the stock airbox? An unrelated question - anybody have opinions on the tunes from Moto-East versus Delicious, specifically for E85? |

Tanabe Gauges
Are the Tanabe gauges too bright at night? I am thinking to go with the Block8head triple vent setup and possibly the Cravenspeed dual pod steering column mount. This way I can have all 5 Tanabe gauges. Is this overkill for monitoring or do I only really need three gauges?
