List of cars in comparison up to 45K (price wise)
Hey guys,
I was able to see the whiteout FR-S today and was trying to think of other cars to compare it to in terms of price. If you had a budget of up to 45K, what BRAND NEW car would you get? I need a DD and I drive up to 25 000 km/yr (15 500 miles/yr). I normally drive my girlfriend and I in the new 2012 Elantra. Though I believe that it is a nice car, I want more power out of the elantra. Passing people with a 0-60 in 9.1 sec is pretty slow on the pickup. Thanks in advance. |

I went with the Boss. |

2013 Audi A5 quattro 6MT
NISMO 370Z: Fiat 500 Abarth: Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 R-Spec: Mazda RX-8: 2013 BMW 3 series (I'd wait for the 4cyl turbo version; I think it'll be worth it!):

I've liked the GMs I've owned, but I don't like the current Camaro, so I plan to at least look at:
2013 Cadillac ATS or 2014 coupe http://www.roadandtrack.com/future-c...llac-ats-coupe |

I noticed your budget is $45k and you're looking at a FR-S. Is that roughly how much a FR-S will cost up in Canada?
Here in the US, an FR-S is around $25k, so would probably shop it against other $25-30k cars. |

If I had that much money to spend it would be one of two cars. A BRZ Limited with a reliable supercharger(50+hp/45tq+) installed(35k) or a 2012 3.8 Track Genesis coupe(31k) and pocket the rest money because I love to save my money. I don't want to blow it all.

For that kind of money, assuming you couldn't wait, I would look at a BMW 135i, Boss Mustang, Fiat 500 Abarth, or maybe even a 3 series.

I guess the "bigness" feeling would depend on what you are accustomed to. I came from a 2008 Evo X which is slightly shorter and about 75 lbs lighter. The only negative I have in the comparison of the two is a slight loss of road feel in the steering wheel of the Mustang. I like how easy it is to throw out the rear end of the Mustang in a turn. Also, the 5.0 revving up the 7500 rpm is a real treat.

Lowest to Highest for me.
FRS - BRZ - A Used 350(2004-2006) - 370. Right now, I am happy with my car because I get great gas mileage, under a 100,000 or 10 year warranty and I do not really drive much. But if I had 42,000 cash right on me, I would do this. Pay off my car now, buy a FRS off the lot without any mod's. Pay off Student Loans(When I have them) and call it good. |

I am surprised no one mentioned a WRX STI.

I really dont know why the OP's price range is up to 45k....... Perhaps its to bring the other cars into the equation....... Since the only sports cars under 30k up here are the FRS, the Genesis 2.0T and the Miata. A new RX8, 370Z, BMW 128i, etc and all those other cars that get compared to the FRS are like 35k and up. |
